Lovely place to visit, The Abbey is a must, a walk around the back streets is recommended, so many old houses & buildings, I don't think any of them had a proper even roof , The walk along the river is lovely, some very nice coffee shops on the way, some over looking the river, so very leisurely, I would say the only downside we found was the amount of traffic on the main road , so make sue to use the crossings.

Having driven past Tewkesbury on the M5 more times than I care to recall, it was chosen as a geographical half way point for a meet up with friends. So impressed, I immediately returned for another visit with my wife. Tewkesbury is perhaps a hidden gem if interested in history. Countless historical and attractive buildings in the main streets; a good Battlefield walk (1471 - War of the Roses) across adjacent fields with information panels throughout and leaflet (£1) from Tourist Information office ; Beautiful Abbey; Riverside walks and pleasant boat trips; Museum and separate Heritage Centre, and a nature park for more walks, on the flood plain. Numerous cafes and places to eat. All above on, or easy walking from the centre itself. We were very impressed. Should have visited before.

We enjoy just wandering around the shops and particularly liked the Abbey. There were a few pubs that we enjoyed visiting as well. Beautiful walks across the river in the Ham, and good information about what we were seeing.

Tewkesbury has preserved and celebrates its history.

Tewkesbury has preserved and celebrates its history. The building are often centuries old and mixed together. None of that planning nonsense of whether new buildings fitted in; more of an attitude of it's your land: build what you like.

Loved the Abbey and its garden, did a lot of shopping in the time we had, met family in the The Royal Hop Pole, and was amazed at all the truly old buildings in good condition. The town seemed well cared for and busy.

Tewkesbury has a lot to offer in terms of history.

Tewkesbury has a lot to offer in terms of history. In particular, the Abbey is well worth a visit. Tewkesbury is in easy distance of other important areas which also have a rich history. Apart from history, there are numerous other types of attractions and trails to explore.

Hotel in a great location at the end of the high street and near all facilities. Wedding party there when we arrived but did not affect service at the bar or in the restaurant and staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Enjoyed both evening meal and breakfast, food was very excellent and reasonably priced, would recommend. Room was large with adequate space and bathroom. Slept well but the building is old so creaky floorboards along corridors in the morning are to be expected. Great outside space with free parking

Very impressed with our stay at tewkesbury park hotel. It was one of the cheapest hotels that we had a choice from and was blown away by the surrounding scenery and views from the breakfast room and bedroom. Excellent facilities and beautiful rooms particularly the bedroom and large bathroom. In close proximity to a great highstreet full of independent shops. We are already planning when to return. Thank you for a fantastic stay

All staff on duty during our stay, from the reception, to the bar, restaurant and cleaning teams were excellent - polite and professional. The historic interior and accompanying detail provided around the hotel were impressive. The food and drink were good quality and great value. The Royal Hop Pole is centrally located in Tewkesbury and was the perfect base for our stay.

It was such a beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect. On the main street of Tewkesbury so all shops outside the doors. The dog friendly room was outside in the courtyard and was easy to take dog out in the night if need be The deluxe room was a suite and quite big. All beautifully decorated and furnished.
