We loved the hotel we stayed in, the walkable neighbourhood by the bay& friendly village store. our children were young adults and so the quiet peaceful environment suited them away from their normal city life. Tighnabruaich is a lovely sea side village overlooking the Isle of Bute. It's out of the way and feels very remote. There are not many shops, but there are great walks and scenery for ever. Not a place for those looking for nightlife and thrills.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A beautiful location on the shore of the Kyles of Bute, overlooking the Island of Bute. There are many sandy beaches around, and opportunities for low level and high level walks. Ben More (h. 742 metres) will test the fitness of hillwalking visitors. Tighnabruaich offers a few shops (RNLI, Gallery, Charity, Cafes etc.) including a mini Co-op market. Ferry access is readily available to Tarbert on Kintyre, and to Rothesay with magnificent Mount Stuart and its Gardens on Island of Bute. The conserved Victorian Toilets situated in the centre of Rothesay, with impressive marble facings and old-time sanitary fittings, deserve an appreciative visit. Benmore Botanic Garden is not too far away, with its stunning avenue of Sequoiadendron Giganteum and a friendly cafe/restaurant.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0
