Trehafod itself isn't a hive of activity - there is only the one pub, unless you take a 5-10-minute walk uphill to the nearby (more upmarket) hotel. It's obviously the only place for the locals to go - karaoke, entertainment at weekends. The area is typically industrial Wales, it was lovely to see what my husbands ancestors had lived like , but you could see the toll it had taken on the area, pontypridd is a minefield for traveller's, even with a satnav we couldn't find the registry office and missed the wedding, no central parking at all except 1 car park , no parking facilities for disabled people at all , my husband had to drop me off and then drive around and around the block until he could stop long enough to pick me up as we found the registry office just as the couple were coming outGuest review byMarianneUnited Kingdom - 2.0
I'd booked a family room through Booking.com several days...
I'd booked a family room through Booking.com several days before and it was confirmed. I arrived at the premises with my family on the evening, only to be told by the manager (Cat) that we'd been double-booked and there were no rooms available. She blamed Booking.com for the error. I then phoned lots of other places to seek accommodation for the night but all fully booked. Bank Holiday weekend! The manager told me any fee taken from my account by Booking.com would be reimbursed, and if not then to phone her. We drove all the way back home to Hampshire.
