lovely and friendly village. Cafe, shop, garage, pub an so much more. Also only 10 min drive from Tavistock or out onto the moor. We only spent a couple of days exploring the local area, but managed to fill every minute with museums, local attractions, city walk and so much more. If you want a stay with everything you need in walking distance from your door. Or you want to explore the moor and local towns, this is the perfect location. Weather was atrocious, but that just showed Dartmoor at its bleak and brooding best, stayed at the East Dart Inn in Postbridge, wonderful staff and accommodation. The room and facilities were very good. Lacked a little information in the room in my experience. Friendly staff except for one lady who I think was in charge. The food was ok as I had an evening meal there. Good selection of beers and drinks. Lots of character and outdoor seating. I would have rated much higher but for the attitude of 1 member of staff. Dousland is right on the edge of Dartmoor and Burrator...
Dousland is right on the edge of Dartmoor and Burrator reservoir. The villages nearby are also beautiful with walks on your doorstep such as Bere Ferrers . Tavistock is also nearby. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The food is very good. This is also a locals pub, servicing a small village, right by one of the best parts of Dartmoor. But this doesn't mean it gets too noisy, and it is certainly not unfriendly.
