Astakos is a lovely place, a bit hidden.
Astakos is a lovely place, a bit hidden. Small village with friendly people, laid back country style architecture. People wave, nod their head, restaurants with basic good food, friendly service, local products. This is a pretty little seaside town with a peaceful vibe.
This is a pretty little seaside town with a peaceful vibe. Lots of small cafes and coffee houses along the shore. It is still underdeveloped in terms of lodging choices, although Giannis Village Resort up on the hillside is an ambitious addition to the limited amenities in the region. A small and quiet village, beautiful seafront with taverna's and coffee bars. Always fresh seafood and traditional Greek food at more than reasonable prices. Half-an-hour drive North, one can enjoy an sunset in Mytikas and for another 30-40 minutes drive, faimos Island of Lefkada can be reached with beautiful beaches and excellent food places.
