It was a wonderful place to stay! The staff were incredibly kind and supportive at all times, and after staying for five nights, we were greeting each other like friends. I also got to try out some of the Greek I’d been practicing! The key system using a web-app was super convenient. The rooms were cleaned frequently, always felt fresh. The dormitory was spacious and comfortable, with both a USB port and a power outlet for each bed, which was very handy. The shared kitchen and fridge were also easy to use. I was lucky to have great roommates as well! One of my favorite moments was spending evenings in the lounge, doing some work while listening to music from the ground floor. The bar and the breakfast were both excellent! I was a bit nervous about traveling solo, but this place felt like home. I always felt safe coming back here. I’d love to stay again!

The staff were very nice, very serviceable, always listened, helped with everything I asked and even consulted with me about questions that I had about athens, my trip, etc. The location was great, in the heart of the city, The room was big, clean, and had a pretty view and had everything I needed and even more for staying there (including a very comfortable bed!), The breakfast was superb, very good and unlike all the hotels it offered an a la carte menu that was very refreshing to me. All in all everything about the hotels was superb, the staff, the service the room, and the location. Very recommended!!!

A Dynamic City with 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history whilst embracing the future.     I stayed in the main tourist area of Plaka which for visiting attractions like the Acropolis was perfect. It was also right next to a Metro station making travel there and around very easy. However it was very and I do mean very busy. Lots of cafes and restaurants but even with that number sometimes difficult to get a table, especially for a solo traveller. It was also not cheap, but not ridiculously expensive either

    Location is great just outside the tourist bustle but easy walk to major sites. Rooms on the smaller side but to be expected in the city. The two large balconies made up for this and made room look bigger. All the staff were exceptional from potters front desk and restaurant. Breakfast amazing with to order eggs and great pastries. The fifth floor garden are was great along with the free afternoon cocktail. I wish we could have stayed longer,

    If you are a bit of a history freak, or you wanna see how the world looked like 2k years ago, Athens is your place - not Rome! Archeological sites, old narrow streets and language (barrier) will make you feel you live in Ancient Greece, and their thousands of islands will capture one's heart forever! Get lost in Athens!

    Staying in the Plaka area was perfect .

    Staying in the Plaka area was perfect . Close to all the main attractions. We walked everywhere and booked a tour whilst there through WithLocals. Great way to explore the Acropolis and museum and learn more about the history. There were some excellent roof top bars where you can enjoy the views of Acropolis- A for Athens and Bar 360 -Monastirski district . Lots of great little restaurants to dine at too.

    First, do your research.

    First, do your research. Athens has a very extensive public transit system that can be confusing. From the airport (and back) you can take the Metro (subway) for 9 euros or the express bus (Rt X-95) for 5.50 euros. We took the metro because we didn't know about the express bus. We took a taxi back to the airport. Should have taken X-95. There are soooo many tours available at VERY reasonable prices. Take advantage of them. The Acropolis is a sea of people and is very physically demanding. Try to pick a cool season to go. The heat can be opressive. Tip your tour guide well. They deserve it. My doctor warned me that Athens is a "dirty city" and some areas are. Along some of the major roads are blighted areas with many abandoned buildings covered in grafitti. These areas, mostly post WWII, are definitely due for some urban renewal, but many of the older neighborhoods are still beautiful after hundreds of years. The people of Athens are great, the history is amazing, and the food is unbelievable. Just go. The details will work themselves out, but do take advantage of the tours. They're very reasonably priced and full of good information.

    We stayed ten minutes away from Onomioa Square, so we could walk towards the Acropolis in 30 minutes. Plenty of buses, many, many bakeries for coffee and snacks. Late night / useful shops open until quite late. The Ancient sights are unforgettable; the main Museums are modern and well set out. The treasures from the past are wonderful. There are buses and day trips to see more of Ancient Greece, which is what we came to Athens for.
