The entry is a bit odd as it’s next to a pet shop but once upstairs you have a fantastic apartment that is close to Port and easy to get to with bags. I loved the views to the clock tower from balcony, views to the square and hills from living-room and hearing the town wake up each morning. Very neat and clean. Hydra is fabulous. It's quite stylish. There is a wonderful array of bars, cafes and restaurants with delicious food, which was surprisingly good value. We've been going to Hydra for over 15 years, and love the ease of the island, especially no vehicles. Though the beaches aren't your classic white sandy beaches the sea is beautiful and the people are really hospitable. I loved this island.
I loved this island. It was so charming and such a slow lifestyle, which is definitely what I needed (and I'm sure a lot of people need on vacation). You could spend hours in the harbor watching boats go by, or take a water taxi to the different beaches around the Island. I didn't get to do it, but I wish I did Harriet's Horses while I was there. It's a small company that takes people throughout the island on horseback. I contacted the woman who ran it, and she was so kind. GO TO THIS ISLAND! Stella, the owner of the Hotel Boutique, provided outstanding hospitality. She made us feel right at home, always attentive and helpful with all our requests. Equally exceptional was the friendly cleaning lady, whose service was impeccable.
