Location next to Meteora, town size, great restaurants, friendliness of our hostess, Meteora-e- Bike Rental at Ianninon 4 near roundabout and square where we rented bikes first day for sunset tour and second day in our own to visit Monasteries. I really enjoyed all my stay.
I really enjoyed all my stay. And I wish I planned more days than 2. There is absolutely amazing vibe here, accompanied by great mountain views. City is small, like 11 000 inhabitants, but very lively and you can find here everything necessary. Do not miss the chance to visit monasteries of Meteora, at least some of them. Or take a tour. The feeling of meeting the sunset high up there can not be compared to anything else. There's a plenty of nice restaurants and tavernas, I especially recommend Ambrosia and Meteora. And prepare yourself for the sizes of portions. :) City is easy to explore on feet, everything is concentrated in a walkable distance. People around are very friendly and open. A great place to visit, especially if you take an organized tour (with a guide and a minibus, so you don't struggle with parking) and car traffic on the mountain around the monasteries and other spots in the area. We stayed in Kastraki which was closer to the Monastaries of Meteora than Kalabake. We ate at a wonderful small place in Kastraki. The food was simple but traditional and yummy. We also ate at Archontariki Restaurant in Kalabaka. The food was amazing! We went on a Bike tour of the Monasteries with Meteora e-Bikes https://meteoraebike.com. This was loads of fun and the guide, Vasilis and Jenny, were welcoming, knowledgeable and genuine. We loved the tour and their care of detail.Guest review byDonnaAustralia

They explained to us everything about visiting the monasteries, gave us a few tips and recommended a very good restaurant for our dinner. The room was excellent with a view of some of the rocks of Meteora. The location of the hotel is perfect because it is exactly between the towns of Kalabaka and Kastraki. Situated in the center, close to downtown with the beautiful views on Meteora. Rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of shelves and BOOKS which really attracted me. I did fill like home, pity I didn't have enough time to read them. I could give 11 out of 10 for cleanliness. This same number for the friendly and very helpful stuff. Good location, close to the bus stop and the train station. The staff is very very helpful and kind! The breakfast is sufficient, the room is equipped beyond expectations ( free air conditioning, soap, etc). The hotel is a very good choice for the price, it is a 2-star hotel, accordingly, the furniture is a bit old, some rooms face a side street, but the price-value ratio is excellent!Guest review byLauraHungary
