Not much happening in Karterados and Fira is bloody...
Not much happening in Karterados and Fira is bloody expensive. I would however recommend moving on to other nicer islands such as Milos, Ios, Naxos and particularly Paros. Only thing I'd change is renting an ATV/scooter/car right from the get-go. Buses in Santorini are not that reliable and do not seem to go according to the schedule printed in the main station (only the airport one departed as scheduled from what I could see). That being said, it's not a terribly long walk, but after a full day walking and sweating under the sun, who wants to wait for a bus or walk for 30 minutes? This was our second time staying in the village.
This was our second time staying in the village. Very convenient for getting around not too far to walk to Fira. We don’t like crows so prefer to stay outside of the main tourist areas this is just far enough away from the capital. Fairly quiet and laid back village within around 20 minutes walk of Fira. Bus took around 10 minutes into Fira cost was 4 euros. Lots of lovely places to eat in the village, we preferred this to going into Fira as it was so bust there.Guest review byCerieUnited Kingdom

Artemio came to pick us at the airport despite of the fact that it was 4.30 a.m and the same to back to the airport. The location is quite convenient from Santorini Airport and Fira bus station. From Airport the Taxi takes 8 minute ride. Towards Fira bus stop you can either enjoy a pleasant 17-minute walk or opt for a quick 4-minute bus ride to reach Fira Bus stop. The management is quite helpful and assisted us in late check in.
