Very quiet resort at this time of year (end of September). Lots of tavernas open, beaches quiet. Bit windy at times but very relaxed all across the island. A car is a valuable aid to a great time. The island is not large and you can drive the hole Island in a day. Poor bus serivce and strange taxi service, spasmodic at best. Blustery oin one side, calm on the other. Kefalos bay is normally perfect for people watching sun and crystal clear waters. BUT its quiet! Kefalos is great if you want the quieter holiday. There is always a breeze so very popular for windsurfing but the days are long and hot with sunshine for about 13 hours so you will appreciate it. It’s a quieter beach with a relaxed and laid back feel. Some tavernas along the waterfront. Lots of dubbed available and not crowded during my visit in mid August. Supermarkets nearby. A short drive from the airport Kefalos offers a lot. There are many lovely beaches, boat trips and other activities. We ate very well. If you like to cook it’s a bit tricky to find local meat and fish. We did find the butcher in the town who was incredibly helpful although we never did get the goat we wanted. It was absolutely amazing when you falling to sleep and you hear the waves. Staff and owner were really friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was very gut. You can bring it to outside area and enjoy it with amazing views. There is also snack bar, when you can order the meal from A la carte menu. The family who own it are wonderful hosts and do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The location of the Hotel is ideal for the beach and Tavernas. Families are always made very welcome and this is the fourth time we have stayed at this property.
