Perea is a lovely destination if you enjoy sandy beaches. The beach bars along the coast are perfect for chilling out and spending lazy days by the sea. For more activities or sightseeing, you’ll need to go outside Perea. It’s relatively well connected, but don’t expect fast or very frequent transport. Still, it’s a great spot if your priority is sun, sand, and a seaside vibe. I would not recommend Perea beach as a holiday destination. The beach means a narrow piece of land. The sand is dirty, there is rubbish everywhere even in the water. The sea si full of sea weed. At the time of our stay, it wasn't overcrowded, and a lot of local people were frequent visitors to the beach. The town is kind of suburbia of Thessaloniki, and it is close to the big shopping malls and all that Thessaloniki can offer. A typical small town.
A typical small town. Its main advantage is the location — close to the airport, Thessaloniki, and Halkidiki. We used it as a base and traveled frequently: to Pozar Baths, Edessa, Thessaloniki, Mount Olympus, and Thermi (where my sister lives). In this regard the location is very good and close to the airport. The hotel is located in Perea which is a suburb of Thessaloniki. The hotel is 3 minute walk to a long well known beach. We had dinner in a very good Taverna on the sea front. The reception staff at the hotel were very courteous and helpful.
