We loved our stay here. The hotel is located in a calm, quiet place. Our executive room was spacious, modern, well-equipped and clean. Staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Minimarkets and restaurants are within walking distance.

The villa was very modern, everything was clean and tidy. We did not have enough towels and sheets, but Jeanette came immediately to bring us more. The sunset view is just breathtaking.

Exceptional boutique hotel. This was our second stay and it was even better than the first. After some bereavements in the family, my husband and I were exhausted after a hard year when we arrived, and destressed and refreshed when we left, thank you! Our week in this hotel was precisely what we needed! The staff organised the taxi transfers from the airport, and since it was our 8 year anniversary and they gave us a free bottle of Champagne and chocolate truffles. We didn't expect that, it was a wonderful surprise. We loved our first stay im 2019 so were happy to see that the hotel reopened after Covid19. It's adult only and so, so quiet, and luxurious. Everything about the hotel is comfortable, with excellent food and drink. The breakfast buffet is varied, healthy and so fresh. They had lovely cocktails and Greek beers. On Sunday they had a jazz and blues band with an amazing singer, Mania. Some hotel bands can be a bit naff but this group was actually really good, I would easily pay for a ticket to some blues bar gig to see them. They deserve far better than playing for a hotel audience! For the rest there was no tacky music, which we really appreciated. It is an immensely quiet and relaxing place. The hotel is in Almyrida and close to really good restaurants, and nearby Plaka (1.5km walk). I can recommend Dmitris, Thalami and Lagos Taverna. If you eat in Plaka, go to Taverna Elpis. These were recommended to us by our Greek friends. The hotel is right opposite a quiet and lovely bay with sand and a couple of small boats. In terms of facilities, they have super clean sauna, massage room and changing facilities if you check out before you need to leave for the airport. I also snuck into the library and borrowed two books during my stay. The pool area is super quiet, very relaxing for a couple wanting to de-stress! There is no fighting over pool seats, no issue with putting towels down to reserve a sunbed - it was a civilised and polite experience.

A stunning hotel in its beauty! Every detail in the new hotel is designed in natural colors, creating an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. The amazing architecture of the hotel connects perfectly with nature, and everything was simply beautiful and perfect! My room had a private pool, and it was simply magical. Natural light flooded the bathroom, making the experience even more special. We received delicious pastries and chocolates in our room, which added an extra touch to our experience. Everything was impeccably clean and tidy. The pools in the hotel are amazing, inviting me to relax and enjoy. The pool bar and the main pool were simply breathtaking in their beauty. The reception staff was amazing and welcoming, contributing to my excellent feeling during the stay. This is the most beautiful and luxurious hotel I have ever stayed in, and the views are breathtaking! Additionally, it is very close to Chania Airport, making it especially convenient. If you are looking for a pampering and beautiful place, this is the perfect spot! I highly recommend it!

Amazing views and a really nice pool also there’s a restaurant owned by them right across the road that has everything you need. Has spacious rooms and bathrooms and is also 15 minutes away from one of the most beautiful and famous lakes in Europe its absolutely stunning would highly recommend also really good price

Landlord was very welcoming and available. Both my puppy and myself felt safe there. The property is in a quiet location but close to a popular kafe just 2 mins walk down the road. It is also a few minutes walk away from 2 lovely beaches ; Kalami beach and kyani beach that leads you to the popular Kalyves where there are lots of tavernas. We will definitely return!

Maria has been a great host. We arrived in the morning but she let us in directly so we could take a bit of rest after a night flight. She’s also very helpful with our requests and gave us a few recommendations on where to visit. The garden is great for kids to play around and the access to the beach is just perfect. Supermarket just opposite the road and a few nice restaurants within walking distance. will look forward to coming back

I loved my holiday in Sofia Kalives! ❤️ I was travelling alone. They made me feel at home and safe all the time! All my questions were answered very friendly. Room service is great, they clean rooms every day. Even my dishes! My room stayed cool, altho I didn't have air conditioner on! View is beautiful! Sea on the other side and mountains the other. It is nice to sit at the terrace and enjoy the view and the local delicacies. Thank You Sofia for giving me the rest that I needed! Hope to come back soon! ❤️

    Plaka is equipped with 2 mini markets which provide all basic necessities; larger supermarkets available in Kalyves and Souda. We ate a number of times in Plaka, Elpis restaurant being our favourite with excellent food and lovely staff. Taki’s is also very good.

    Plaka is beautiful and very traditional.

    Plaka is beautiful and very traditional. Excellent restaurants closeby. Amazing views across to Almyrida and also views of the mountain. We loved all of the restaurants and had great food in the four thst we went to. We had great souvlaki and moussaka. House wine in all were really good. We used the pool in Emerald apartments and just brought drinks while we were there, the view from the pool wS amazing. Very easy to get round Plaka, however we never walked back from Almyrida as it is very steep so had a taxi, 6 euros.

    Plaka is a beautiful spot that has stunning views of the coast and Almyridia. It has a great selection of local restaurants and shops and is only a short walk down to the busier strip of restaurants, facilities and beaches. We had the most amazing time and the hosts could not do enough for us, it was so wonderful. A true home-from-home with special touches along the whole trip. I would highly recommend it to anyone asking. We will definitely revisit the special accommodation that we found in Plakias also, a great place to tour around the Chania region and beyond in Creta.

    Plaka is a sweet little village close to beaches.

    Plaka is a sweet little village close to beaches. It feels more authentic that staying in the resort areas and the restaurants are more traditional and much better prices! We found Plaka to be a very good base for exploring this part of Crete - it is only half an hour into Chania and it is also possible to drive to lots of beaches in a few minutes, one of them is only a ten minute walk away.

    Plaka was the perfect location to capture views and set back...

    Plaka was the perfect location to capture views and set back from the busy tourist area of Almyrida Beach...It offers amenities such as a couple of super markets (walkable) and restaurants. It is a short drive to a main highway for easy access to beaches and roads to South side of the island. While Chania is a historic and iconic city, we were glad that we did not stay there - there are cruise ships that port there and bring in lots of tourists. Plaka is only 30 minutes from the airport and was the perfect location for our plans to hike, see ruins, experience various beaches and authentic villages.

    The villa is in a stunning location with everything you need just a short walk away. Almyrida is a longer walk but is possible and has a lovely beach & restaurants. The pool was fantastic and there is ample outside furniture and space to enjoy meals and the sunsets. Soula was an amazing host and any issues we had were resolved very quickly. She was also on hand to answer any questions and went above and beyond to help us store our luggage in Chania whilst we waited for our flight home. She also arranged car rental - highly recommended!

    We arrived in the middle of the night to a warm welcome with a meal and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The fridge was stocked, so we didn’t need to go out for breakfast the next morning. The apartment was lovely, with a spacious terrace, sun loungers, and a pool. Beautiful surroundings and great restaurants nearby – Plaka Square was especially charming. Many thanks to Stefania, Vana, and the team for taking such good care of us. We’d love to return next time we visit Crete ❤️

    Clean and comfortable villa with incredible land and sea views . The location was peaceful in a convenient hillside location. Very comfortable beds so a good nights sleep. The shower was not very powerful but fulfilled its function. Being high up on hillside at the back of Plaka the property received cooling breezes and was easy to keep ventilated. Leo the property manager very helpful and responded quickly to any problems or requests.

    We had a really great stay here, everyone was very friendly and the area was lovely. A wide selection of reataurants around and a convenience store five minute walk away. Almirida beach was about a 20 min walk away down hill. Would definately come back in the future!

    Nice "retro" style house in Plaka. Three bedrooms (spacy master bedroom). Nice privacy in backyard with good size swimming pool. Location is good, near shops and restaurants.
