We first stayed here three years ago, just the two of us before our son was born, and it was absolutely wonderful. So when we decided to return to Crete this year, this place was an obvious choice — and just like back then, we were more than satisfied this time as well. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and everyone here is incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. You truly feel at home. We had breakfast (15€/person), which was already great three years ago, but this time it was even better — a wide variety that has something for everyone. The beach is just a few minutes from the hotel and it's truly stunning — long and spacious. We’ll definitely come back again someday. If I had to mention one small thing, it would be this: it would be great to have a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the room. The cleaning schedule isn’t always at the same time every day, and sometimes when you just want a quiet moment, a sign like that would be helpful. But that’s honestly just a small detail — maybe even a little inspiration for a minor improvement at what is otherwise an absolutely fantastic place. We can fully and sincerely recommend it to anyone. On top of that, our journey here was quite complicated, so we had to cancel the arranged airport transfer and reschedule it for another day. Due to a change in our return flight, we also needed to stay an extra night — and again, nothing was ever a problem. So with this review, we’d like to thank the entire team for a truly wonderful holiday

The apartment was exactly as described and as you can see in the pictures: modern, clean, with everything you need to sleep well, cook, relax, feel at home. Theodoros, the host, is very very helpful and friendly. It was reassuring to know he was available to give local advice or deal with any problems (we didn't have any problems though). The apartment really does have everything you may need: towels, hairdryer, iron for clothes, kitchen, cooking utensils, fridge, a drying rack that dries your clothes in the balconay overnight. The balcony is big, it has a nice table and chairs; the apartment has curtains and shutters if you want a dark room at night; the aircon works very well, the sound isolation is excellent. We slept very well as the mattress and pillows are great, we have only good things to say, we loved it. Plus, the location is great with many tavernas nearby, a supermarket and of course, a short walk to the beach!

The Breakfast was good. Location 90 Minutes away from Chania Airport. Taxi Costa 100 Euro. 5 Minutes Walking Distance to the beach. Stores and Restaurants opens longer until 10 pm. Nice experience. People are chill relax and really friendly. Weather perfect.

Very nice and professional staff! We arrived on the 5th of July at midnight, they left us the keys to the room. We are thankful to the girls on the reception - especially to Panagiota! (Παναγιώτα) We had 11 nights there. The rooms and apartments are clean, very spacious, with a view of the pool. Convenient location, delicious hearty breakfasts. The hotel is 3 minutes by walk from the sea. Nearby is the most beautiful beach of the entire northern coast of Crete - Pavlos beach. Platanias - town,it has everything you need - cafes, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, Lidl, diving and tours centers! 7-10 km. from Rethymno city. Pinelopi hotel located at the heart of Platanias town, 2-3 hours by bus from Chania airport, 1 hour by car. It has good connection with another places of Crete- by buses, rental cars, taxis. Bus Ticket costs 1-2 €. Clean pool, wonderful nature around the hotel area- everything here makes the unforgettable impressions. Good for peaceful resting - for families with kids or for couples. I recommend to visit Pinelopi!! It's the place we'd come back again.

We were very happy to stay in this hotel. It was super clean. The staff was very welcoming and all facilities were cosy and clean. The breakfast was perfect, tasty and with big variety of products. Since we left early in the morning, we received takeaway breakfast and it was also great. The hotel is located very close to the sea beach, possibly 100 meters. The kitchen is well equipped with absolutely all kitchenware you may need for cooking. In conclusion, we had an amazing stay and happy to recommend it.

    I really like Platanes, it's not too far from the busy Rethymno centre and slightly more relaxed than being near the main areas, but still has nice restaurants and beach bars etc. and good access to main roads etc. if you like to get out and adventure without getting stuck in congestion, which can sometime be found neare to centre.

    Tourist destination, really close to the main city of Rethimno, without the hustle and bustle of the city. And with plenty of car parking! Really nice for summer holidays, having the beach near and everything somenone may need, such as mini markets, breakfast cafés, souvenir shops.

    It is typical resort town, with lots of shops, grocery supermarket, taverns, also there is a good drugstore. The downsides are very narrow sidewalks and crazy motorcyclists day and night, like everywhere in Greece.

    An excellant resort with wide choice of tavernas and bars to suit all pockets. Lots of tourist shops , car rentals and excursions available The beaches are easily accessible and pool bars are plentiful and free to use if you buy drinks/food. It’s a very friendly resort great for families as many places have child pools or playing areas Everywhere is easily accessible on foot but there is a good regular bus service or car hire is easy to arrange

    Lovely town and not changed too much over the years I have been visiting. Lots of restaurants, tour companies and souvenir shops. Good bus service into Rethymno. Beach is a bit stony, so beach shoes were required. Plenty of water activities for the kids (and adults) on the beach

    This was the second time my wife and I have been to Platanes. We went for the first time a few years ago and thought it was about time we went back. We enjoyed our visit then but this visit was even better. There is a variety of accommodation available from luxury 5 stars hotels to small apartments and a great variety in between. Many residences have pools but there are golden beaches within a short distance of the main strip and many have tavernas and bars. The main strip has many places to eat and drink and prices are very reasonable. Crete has a great cultural heritage and there are plenty of trips which can be taken. The weather was wall to wall sunshine

    We loved the authentic Cretan vibe of Gold Apartments. The traditional décor, combined with modern amenities, gave the place a warm and welcoming feel. The restaurant serves excellent local cuisine, and we especially enjoyed the fresh seafood dishes. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the beach—and the views from the balcony are stunning. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for the whole family. It’s the perfect place to experience the charm of Crete while enjoying modern comforts.

    The hotel is located in a quiet area but very close to supermarkets and restaurants. It's great that they don't have many rooms so the beach and pool area was never crowded, that was a big plus for us! It has its own beach which is nice but keep in mind that it's quite rocky and you'll definitely need some sea shoes. The rooms are comfortable and soundproof, it was great that the room was equipped with a coffee machine. The staff was nice and helpful.

    Location was great with access to the beach over the road and lots of restaurants nearby. Rethimnon is a €10 cab ride. The hotel is very clean and not too noisy. Large balcony with table and chairs, fridge and well stocked with utinsels and appliances. It has gardens around the back and to the pool. Wifi was acceptable.
