Nice beaches, nice vibes, beautiful buildings/architecture, nice strolls and walks, several cultural and historic references, nice restaurants, friendly people, perfect for a short getaway from Athens. Transportation is tricky though, the only working option is a scooter that needs to be booked much in advance. The lovely authentic town but mainly the lovely authentic people made Spetses special. Take a horse and carriage ride, visit Marina beach (paradise beach) eat ice cream, swim and swim some more! Spetses is a very relaxed island with a picturesque port and lots of nice restaurants and cafes. The beaches are good however unless you have transport there it can be difficult to get to beaches as there is an erratic single private bus service. Such a gorgeous island that is spread over a large area allowing more places to explore. The old port charm is breathtaking and wonderful to eat at so many different restaurants. The main port offers large walking paths and sea views. The beaches offer crystal clear waters but as no cars are allowed on the island, hiring a quad bike or motorbike to explore these beaches are a must. Kastro Hotel exceeded our expectations , the staff is amaing, very helpfull and they gave us good tips, where to go, what to do. Our room was amaing , we had the Suite, it has a sea view balcony in the front. It was very clean , i loved the living room area. There is a small kitchen if you need to make something and a coffee machine. Wifi was good. The sheets and towels smelled so nice , you dont see this in other hotels. Beautiful hotel, tucked away outside of the main town. Room very comfortable with everything you will need during your stay. The whole property is exceptionally maintained with a lovely pool and garden area. A lovely touch of ice tea and homemade cakes available at reception, which were gratefully devoured after a day out on the bikes.
