This city left a mark on us.
This city left a mark on us. We stayed at the centre and it was full of life, restaurants, shops, events, theatres, archaeological sites, museums and a beautiful waterfront that extents for miles. Not only that, the way of life draws you in. Easy going, relaxed yet gregarious. Excellent food with a plethora of restaurants, pastry shops, bakeries and a coffee joint every 100 meters or so. Thessaloniki is a wonderful destination to absorb Greek culture, food, and history. The city feels safe and readily walkable. Their is much hidden to uncover in the historical sites and churches and mosaics abound. We did a cookery course and visited the tombe of Philip II by taxi with a guide. We climbed up to the prison at the top of the town.
