It was all around fabulous. The attention to detail to make your stay special was a delight. The room was so clean, comfortable and great reading lights above the bed. And the view!!!! We had our own terrace with a beautiful yard on one side and an incredible view of Motovun on the other. In the morning, with the fog in the valley the hill top town of Motovun looked like it was floating in the sky. A fairy tale city. The host family, are so kind and accommodating. They make you feel so special and welcome. They do many extra things to treat you as a special guest. And the even the dog comes to greet you every time you pull into the yard and will go with you for a walk. Wonderful central location, easy free parking and peaceful.

The location of the Villa is perfect, and the room is simply amazing. The bed is incredibly confortable, the bathroom spacious and clean, and the balcony offers a view like no other. Our host was incredibly nice and offered free transportation from the parking lot to the Villa, as well as a welcome drink. You can also ask for a breakfast in your room (15e per person) which is definitely worth it. We had a wonderful stay. If we come back to Motovun we'll gladly stay here again.

We had 3 flats on our bikes coming from Poreč and we got in very late dehydrated and exhausted after walking 8 km and getting up the hill at night. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was incredible. Slaven helped us way beyond our reservation. He had extra tubes that we could purchase. We felt as family members rather than passing strangers. We can’t say enough to show our gratitude. This is the place for cyclists in the area

Great little town to walk around in. Great local wineries. Amazing local fruit stand as you make your way up the hill. He had the best selection of the most wonderful fruit and veggies. The ice cream was fantastic. Sampling of truffles and local alcohol without being pressured was amazing. Just fantastic hospitality overall shown by the locals.

Motovun is a wonderful place full of history and unique charm, though travelers should know that almost all of the restaurants and bars are closed during the month of February. In February it resembles a ghost town.

Beautiful ancient town with much to see and lots of great restaurants and shops. Not great for people with mobility issues of any kind. The walking is a bit of a workout. Very steep hills and cobblestone roads. Parking seems to be an issue.

Motovun is a charming and almost fairy-tale like village on a hill. We felt like we had completely gone back in time; yet, we had easy access to almost all of the rest of Istria from there, including seaside towns, wine tasting, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting and local shopping. The furthest town was Pula. Everything else was more like 30 minutes. We are spending two weeks in Croatia and we are so thankful we spent three days/nights in Motovun as our hub for visiting Istria. Heads up: it is a lot of uphill walking on cobblestones to get into the center of town - but SO worth it.

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

The location is great, right in the heart of Motovun. Our room also had breathtaking views of the Istrian countryside. The room is very spaced set-up, very large bathroom and a nice balcony. Very friendly staff, they picked us up from the Motovun parking and dropped us off as well. Breakfast is good, and perfect to enjoy from your balcony.

Hotel was very clean, accomodation will fit all your needs for a short stay. Rooms are ok in size, bathroom was spacious with walk-in shower. Parking next to hotel possible. The view to Motovun from the hotel and it's rooms is super nice! Host was very kind and helpful.

Nena's house is wonderful. The views are beautiful, and she also has an outdoor table where you can eat. The walk to Motovun is a bit tedious; it's a 20-minute uphill walk, followed by a downhill walk on the way back. Nena was very kind.
