Before arriving we were in contact with hosts' daughter Branka. She was very helpful. Happy to comply with our special requests (having a 21 month old extremely curious cable loving baby). Upon arrival we were greeted with our hosts Ivan an Anna, that we can't thank enough for everything. They were both kind and helpful with all our needs. Our little boy absolutely loved them. He kept asking about them all the time (and still does so 3 days later). They didn't seem to mind him running under their feet (on the contrary, they enjoyed his company too). If it weren't for them, we would definitely miss our ferry off the island, throwing our timetable totally off the tracks. On top of that: If they ever decide to open a restaurant we are willing to drive all the way to Saplunara just to try it out O:-) . That is just about the hosts. The location itself is great too. When we were arriving after more than a 6 hour drive, and passed from Saplunara's most famous beach Velika Saplunara, on our way to apartments, we were quite bummed by the distance. It seemed felt extremly far. Luckily, it was just the anxiousness that made it way longer than it is. When my little son couldn't fall asleep that night I took him out for a walk and it took us all of about 6 minutes to reach the sand. A little grocery store with all the basics is about 3 minutes further down the road. If you don't feel like cooking yourself there is a restaurant directly the opposite of apartments (we didn't try that one), another one about a 1-2 minute walk and yet another one, plus a fast food down at the beach. Having a kid, we were on a lookout for sandy beaches. Velika Saplunara exceeded our expectations. Unless there is a SW wind the water is pretty much inland lake calm (it is protected from all other sides). There are some rocks in the water but as the sea is really clean you can easily spot and avoid them (even if you don't they are smooth so no need for...

Exceptional stay that we couldn't even imagine. From accommodation, excellent food in the owner's restaurant, location, beach with marble but also sand... We visited other, very close sandy beaches but spent most of days again at "our" beach. Especially I want to emphasize hospitality of landlord and his family. Few days upon arrival we felt like knowing them for years😍. We are sure that we would come back. This was stay and place that you are looking forward visiting again.

Perfect stay at Villa Evita! The apartment was cozy and well-equipped – even had a washing machine for doing laundry. Amazing view, total peace and quiet. The island is stunning and definitely worth a visit. The host was lovely and gave great beach tips. Highly recommend!

Location of property exceeded our expectation, sea is a few steps in front of the property - we saw dolphins one evening from the balcony <3 Nearby Klačna luka beach was 500m of nice walk by foot or usual 20-30min with paddle board. Furniture in the apartment is quite new & modern, utilities in kitchen handy and practical for making different meals. Host Anita and people in Sobra were extremely friendly and helpful. Mljet is unreal, going around from Sobra to other Mljet places with Mljet Taxi or own car was easy.

Though it's not super-modern inside, I found the atmosphere of the place very congenial. This was added to by the kindliness of the lady that I dealt with, Ana, who went out of her way to be helpful. And the cat. There is a small swimming spot just a few metres away.

    The place we stayed there in Saplunara was a bit far from most of the "tourist" things to do on the island, but we weren't there for sightseeing necessarily so it wasn't a problem for us. The "things to do" on the island (like the National Park, St. Mary's Island, the Roman ruins) weren't difficult to get to because we had our own car. What we loved the most was how quiet it was and that there were very few people there. We almost felt like we had the island to ourselves at times, which is fabulous! Obviously, our stay was just outside of the normal tourist season, so not many things were open and the beaches weren't quite cleaned up, but there was a grocery store open, which was helpful. We ate most of our meals in our apartment. One of our favorite things was finding a hidden beach and enjoying it all to ourselves.

    Everything about our stay was perfect from the wonderful...

    Everything about our stay was perfect from the wonderful location overlooking the sea.. a tranquil cove, to the beautifully furnished, spacious apartment with everything you could need in it . The hostess made us feel so welcome and the food was absolutely delicious.. we are looking forward to a return visit!

    It is a quiet place, where you can get your rest, you have some good food options, and a good not expensive shop. The beaches Mala Saplunara and Limuni(Blace) beach are very nice and refreshing. We reccomend you have a car, to be able to get to other parts of the island, because the bus connections are not good. We loved eating in Popay fast food and in Stremasi restaurant( its expensive but worth it)

    Saplunara is a beautiful area - several sandy beaches, green hills, and a lovely calm inlet that was protected from the prevailing westerly winds. Very tranquil and relaxing. Several restaurants and beach cafes as well as sun loungers and umbrellas to rent.
