The people at the hotel are very friendly and hospitable, especially the owner Josef, who tried bis best to communicate despite me not speaking much Russian/Ukranian/Hungarian and gave a kot of information about traveling in the region. We stayed just one night at Madison Village in Kisvárda. We chose this hotel out of convenience but it was a pleasant surprise and we were very impressed. The room was clean and well equipped, and what really stood out was the beautiful backyard. It’s very well kept, full of flowers, with a clean pool, jacuzzi, and plenty of little corners to relax in – a perfect place to unwind. We spent the whole afternoon there and we had a great time! The breakfast was excellent, with lots of options to choose from and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I would also recommend their restaurant next door – even though it was almost full when we went for dinner, our food arrived quickly. The menu has a wide variety, including good vegetarian choices. Overall, a wonderful stay, would definitely recommend!

We stayed at Bucka-lak in early September as a couple and had a wonderful time. The place is charming, peaceful, and very quiet — perfect for relaxing. There are good restaurants and coffee spots nearby in Kisvárda. The accommodation is part of an outdoor school, so the rooms are simple rather than premium, but everything is clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The host was very friendly and welcoming. It’s an excellent spot for families, with great fishing opportunities, evening fire grilling, and simply enjoying the beautiful lake. Highly recommended for anyone looking for rest and nature.
