We had a real nice stay there. It's a beautiful little island out in nowhere. So bring some cookies for yourself or the 3 nice guys (Yulio, Edo and Idris) that are hosting you and cooking so good 3 times a day or bring a guitar string for Yulios guitar, he will play some songs for you. They will be so thankful. Anyway it's the perfect place to find some rest and time to snorkel or cuddle with the cats or dog. We had such a great time there, made a bonfire and just sit together, sang together and talked and laughed. Since we organised the way to the Island ourselves we were happy that Ira organised our way back to Medan by a shared car. We could even pay by paypal or wise transfer since we couldn't find an ATM in Singkil that was working for us. Thanks for the wonderful stay. I would recommend this to anyone:-)

Absolute paradise. To stay on a 'private' island with only the 8 bungalows at Tailana is such a dream and amazing value for money. We ended up staying 7 nights. We got the 2hr speed boat both ways, which we managed to share with other guests (arranged on whatsapp). Average price was 1,600,000 for the two of us. We know other guests who did it with the public ferry and wooden boats. The room and bed were simple but comfy, good mosquito net. Because we extended our stay, we actually stayed in the newer A-Frame room as well as the older white-washed room, and while both were good, we actually preferred the older room as it was easier to stand in (the a-frame is a bit low on the sides of the bed obviously). The food was excellent, 3 delicious meals per day. They catered to vegetarian diet without a problem. Not many mosquitos which was surprising. We snorkelled everyday (you can rent equipment from their small dive shop on the island) and thought it was really beautiful. We saw a lot of coloured fish, some stingray, and one turtle. Definitely worth the big trip to get here, but we'd recommend staying at least 4 nights to make it worthwhile. The bathrooms are simple (European style, but non-flushing... which isn't a problem) The outdoor showers are great and offer enough privacy. Tip: I brought some beers with me and they let me keep them in the fridge :)

We had the best time at Palambak and extended our stay the longest possible to at least 2 weeks as we won’t find an paradise like this again. The bungalows are beautiful located with sea view, clean and well equipped with everything you need to relax on your big terace (chairs and hammock) and have a huge mosquito net, mosquito coil and a electronic mosquito raket. Make sure to bring your repellent and long clothes to stay at beach when it’s getting dark and you are fine :) The shared bathrooms come with a Western Toilet and a Basket shower- they are cleaned very well everyday. The staff will care for you the whole day with everything you need and will cook delicious food 3 times a day! It was amazing to stay with them! We had fresh fish, we cooked with them and there was a bonfire at the beach one day. The Beach is beautiful (staff clean it everyday right in the morning because there is of course some trash coming from the main island from time to time) and you can walk around the island in about 2,5-3 hours. And last but not least there is the Manager Claudine who is organising everything perfectly and fast via WhatsApp with you to make sure you really have the best stay! Make sure to not miss this beautiful paradise :) we hope to come back on day!

Some only have a shared bathroom. - Bungalows are located directly on the very long sandy beach. - Comfortable double bed - Quiet No mosque, no chickens to be heard in the morning from my bungalow. I was the only guest for 7 days. - Mosquito net without holes - Manager speaks good English. - Friendly manager named Mr. Deni. - The manager organized the transport from my bungalow to Lake Toba. - Free WiFi at the restaurant - Electricity from 6 p.m. to about 10 p.m. - Diving mask for rent But I had my own goggles and diving fins. - Fish and corals were OK, but I had to swim about 400 m into the open sea for them. The manager can take you there. - Free drinking water, tea and coffee 24/7. - Pick up in Balai When I arrived with the local boat in Balai on Pulau Balai, a gentleman was waiting for me and took me to the second boat. - Good food whenever I wanted But you should bring enough snacks. Dinner was more rice than I could eat, lunch was OK, but for breakfast there was only a very thin banana pancake. On the way to Singkil I bought waffles, marshmallows, cookies, chocolate cookies, small breads with cheese or chocolate for 25 EUR. I was not hungry and I did not lose weight. - Some useful information 2 flights per week from Medan to Singkil with Susi Air. The manager recommended a good, quiet and cheap hotel in Singkil called Alviya. Private taxi from Medan to Singkil 1,500,000 IDR. The local boat to the resort runs every day between 10 and 11 am. You can get the ferry schedule from Mr Darmawan from Banyak Island Travel, Darmawan Singkil <dmawan_skl76@yahoo.com> or from Customer Service ASDP <cs@asdp.id>. Private taxi from Singkil to Lake Toba 1,200,000 IDR organized by the manager. Boat from Balai to the resort 350,000 IDR.
