FranceEvery hour a new surprise and new feelings! The best stay of our trip to Indonesia!
When traveling, everything goes fast. Emotions and feelings are heightened.
When you experience something exceptional, you know it and you feel it.
That’s what we lived at Anda’s.
Suspicious, picky, stressed Westerners: this place will not please you unless you totally embrace the Green Anda’s project.
It takes about 6 hours by car from Jakarta to reach Anda’s. This part of Java is not easily accessible by public transportation, unless you have a lot of time and know how to manage to find transport.
In this region, Indonesians rarely speak English! So be sure to write down your addresses and learn a few words of Indonesian.
Anda’s is located on the edge of the park – unofficially in the park, since all the wildlife and mangrove swamps you will find in the village are part of it.
When you arrive, you may be directly surprised by the authenticity of the place. Here, you are between sea and jungle. You arrive in a picturesque village of about 30 villagers, stretching over less than a kilometer, with pretty traditional houses.
The village is quiet, with only the sounds of the jungle, the calls to prayer, a few scooters passing by, and the laughter of the inhabitants. In Indonesia, people laugh a lot when speaking. That might surprise you!
A little lost at first, since we hadn’t researched much about our destination (I had just read a review saying “total immersion in an Indonesian village”), the absence of our host when we arrived (only 10 minutes late but no answer on the phone because… no battery 😉) worried my partner.
Then he appeared: Anda, cigarette in hand, beret, backpack, a smile and a reassuring handshake.
“Come, come!” Yes, this is the place. Enter your house, because now it’s yours and you are part of the village. Drop your bags, sit down.
Note: In Indonesia, people smoke a lot.
