Honestly, this place was awesome! Super clean, the room looked so aesthetic, and even the mattress and pillows smelled amazing. The view from the room? Just wow – Mount Abang and the lake right in front of you, totally breathtaking. The staff were super helpful and super fast with replies. Totally loved my stay!

Beautiful location, next to the lake. It is in a very "local" little place, next to chickens, fisherman, stuff like that, which I love but for some may be offputting. Sunrise here on the lake can be epic... The owners are very lovely people and will welcome you warmly. This goes a long way! The breakfast was good, we took it to our balcony which was super nice. Room was very clean, fresh, well furnished with a decent bathroom. Bed was very good quality nice places to put your belongings

Lovely idea of small cabins with beautiful views, built on a hillside overlooking the lake. When we stayed in September 2025, it was clear that the place is still quite new, and some things and services are still being adjusted. We stayed for two nights, which was just the right amount of time. It was a great base for climbing Mount Batur and for exploring the northern part of the island. Among the highlights were the young, friendly, and helpful staff regularly available on the reception and Whatsapp. They organized a scooter rental and also a driver to take us to the south of the island, both for a fair price. We also enjoyed the outdoor bathtub several times – the water was warm and came from a natural spring (not crystal clear, but still fine). The price of €45 per cabin per night, including breakfast for two people, was good value. Breakfast was included, and we also ate in the restaurant later – the food was tasty and reasonably priced.

Ampik Batur is a lovely little B&B close to the start of the Mount Batur climb. It's run by Nengah and Eron who were always on hand to give directions or even a lift down the road plus provided a delicious breakfast delivered straight to the table with a view outside my villa. Best of all, the private hot spring attached to each villa is filled and perfectly warm whenever needed.....which is particularly appreciated after the early morning trek. Thank you!

I had a wonderful stay at Hillside Bali. Mario and his wife are so friendly and accommodating. He is also very knowledgable in the area and happy to share information. He booked my Mount Batur sunrise volcano climb too which was amazing. The accommodation itself is so modern and clean with a beautiful outlook towards the mountains. The bed was super comfortable and perfect after a long day exploring! Highly recommend Hillside to everyone!
