Great value and friendly locals. We had an awesome jungle trek and saw orangutans, monkeys and other wildlife. The food on site was great and it was a short walk or scooter ride into Bukit Lawang. No hot water but you get that in the jungle.

The Jungle Guide is such a good organization. They organize trips through the jungle with stays in the jungle. the guides grew up in the jungle and share their knowledge Their english is well and they even organize karaoke evenings or play games with you in the jungle (card tricks etc). It was so much fun, I learnt a lot and I saw the Orang Utans in wild life, also many other monkey. Their lodge is placed at a hill over the river. The bungalows are simple, with a very comfortable bed. I will defetly go back.

We stayed in the tree house and loved the view and balcony - bathroom downstairs was cool - booked hike through them too which was fantastic - tia is a fantastic host and makes you feel at home- one of the better choices given proximity to jungle

The place is beautiful and quiet. The staff is amazing, very helpful. They also offer trekkings to the jungle. I did a 3-day trekking. It was the best. We saw orang-utans, had delicious food and the guides were very knowledgeable.

the location is incredible - gorgeous walks and opportunities to spot monkeys, lizards, bright butterflies - overlooking the river and jungle and with a private waterfall on the land. the staff were incredible and went out their way to help us, and were there to answer any question. We came with two year old twins who can be a handful and they made us feel extremely welcome, and helped lug and entertain the boys on the trek into the jungle to see the orangutans (we saw 4!)

Lovely stay , comfortable and very clean.the view from the balcony was amazing and the staff also very friendly and helpful. We did a day trekking and tubing, I had lots of fun to see the orang utan up so close, can't get better than that.even though I felt over so many times to get to it 🙈 , it's so worth it.And also thumbs 👍 for our guide bang jerry and his partner (so sorry I can't remember his name ) they both are amazing, knowledgeable and friendly, also very patient with me as I am taking so many breaks during our trip to see the orang utan. I definitely recommend staying at the hotel orangutan and Hopefully I will be back to Indonesia again soon. Keep up the good work and thank you.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Comfortable beds, beautifully decorated room, amazing tropical garden, delicious food in the restaurant, the well organised and executed overnight tour into the jungle (yes, we were lucky to see orangutans in the wild) But it is the people working at the Orangutan discovery villa that made our stay unforgettable - highly hospitable, accommodating, genuine in every way. If we are ever to go back to Bukit Lawang it will be the this place.
