The main village is centred around the church and Tigh Rosie’s where the atmosphere is lovely to enjoy a drink, as well as a traditional music session on Tuesday nights. Down near the bay and beach are great facilities for families with toilets, cafe Cois trà (just remember it’s closed Monday/Tuesday) and don’t forget to call in on Sunday for the craft fair. So much to see of historic nature and the beauty of the landscape breathtaking, from the Skelligs to cliff walks to the beauty of the blue flag beaches in the area. Food lovers paradise. The staff and guests were very open an hospitable in the Hostel before, during and after the trip. We were disappointed not to get to the islands because of the weather but there was so much else to se and do in the area that we had plenty of alternatives. There was terrific scenery to see no matter what road we took for a walk in the area and we left knowing we needed to stay a lot longer ! A beautifully quiet village with a lovely safe beach for swimming, and other watersports, lots of great walks, and has a beautiful backdrop of mountains. It has one small shop only and one pub. There is an arts centre with coffee shop but not open consistently. It's a few miles to Cahirciveen or Waterville to find restaurants and theres a Supervalue supermarket in Cahirciveen.
