This is really our type of holiday. The silent and peaceful, countryside, surrounded by nature and cute animals, a lovely garden, a cozy old cottage with everything you need. Big plus for us was the fireplace that is the main reason we booked the cottage. We love to light the fire and enjoy the atmosphere! It means a lot to us during our trips. Smart tv with big variety of channels, we enjoyed a movie with the fire on, and candles in the sitting room. So many lovley beaches and sightseeing around, without 30 mins drive there is already a lot to see. Tasty and big breakfast in the morning, cooked for us by the host Nettie, that took very good care of us during our stay. We would have loved to stay more, unfortunately we could stay only 1 night. We have been blessed with the weather as well. Hopefully we will go back! If you are looking for all the above, this is the place. The place was easy to reach. Thanks for everything! The property is really well kept and spotlessly clean. All of the rooms are spacious, loads of seating in the kitchen diner. A separate living room with Sky TV, Netflix and an XBox. Great Wifi signal. Outdoor seating in the back of the house which looks out across the crop fields and beyond. There is a large fridge freezer, washing machine etc, tons of towels and bedding so you don’t need to bring anything with you. Tea, Coffee sugar etc were provided which was really appreciated. Hot water and heating fully available, the house is cosy warm on a cold day. Our hosts live just down the road and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed and appreciated the lovely accommodation and enjoyed a relaxing holiday.

Thistledown is like a home from home. It has everything and more that you’d need while you’re there. Pristine clean too. Raymond is very kind and so approachable. They make a great team. Can’t recommend this place enough. My second time staying here and if I return to Ireland I’ll be back.

I was given a marvellous room, actually three rooms including a bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom. The hostess, Susan Kellet, and her son D.J. werecharming and interesting. Meals were excellent. The other guests present were entertaining, interesting company. The house was both historic and a family home. As I drove up the lengthy drive, I saw snipe and other birds. I walked in the beautiful walled garden and went on Lough Conn to fish. President Joe Biden had recently used the house as his base while in Mayo and it was a good choice by his staff.

We had a lovely stay in a warm,cozy and spotlessly clean room. The whole building seemed to be renovated recently and looked really good. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The location is very central in Crossmolina.

Wonderful location, and you’re able to enjoy dinner looking out over the sea. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, we’d be delighted to stay here again.

This beautiful and historic castle is set within 1,000 acres of woodland. On the banks of the River Moy, it boasts a restaurant made from the remains of a 17th-century Spanish galleon.

Beautiful grounds and interiors, staff were helpful and friendly. It was a wonderful luxurious escape for the same price as a cramped hotel room in Dublin.
