A nice town to walk around with parks and ring roads. One-way traffic which makes it a little confusing but there are several big carparks. Loved the drumlin roads, like being on a gentle rollercoaster. Very friendly people. The Cavan County Museum was fascinating, moving, imaginative, comprehensive. One of the best I've seen. Loved visiting the home county of my ancestors. Hoped to find family connections, but I will need to come back to research more. The tourist info office was very helpful as was Harold Johnston in Black Lion😊. Although we didn’t explore the hiking and lakes, that will be on my next journey. The Cavan County Museum was very interesting place to visit, beautiful gardens well planned out and Fantastic exhibits, ie The Battle of the Somme, trenches , Replica of the GPO and the exhibits. The whole history of the country, and its significance in the landscape of Cavan and its people. I would highly recommend it. Wifi connection was excellent. Our host Carmel/family were very helpful. We were not far from the venue of our friends party.
