Clifden is a small but mighty town in west of Ireland.
Clifden is a small but mighty town in west of Ireland. Some great pubs with fantastic live music in the evenings and nighttime. Must mention Ravis and Lowrys in particular. Loved the area, views, beaches especially when portable toilets nearby. One beach had sinking sand so unable to walk along the edge due to a shoulder injury. A bit disappointed with the food options. We have a daughter who is gluten, dairy and nut free. Salads were offered and steak, which is expensive. Very upsetting 😡 Overall staff did try their best. Keogh pub was able to provide chips, burger and bacon and cabbage 😋 very bad network in areas. Shops were good. Supervalu had the gf, df options in clifden. The location is excellent, and close to access everything locally by foot, and far enough away from the road that we were not hearing noise at night. The breakfast was really tasty,, with a good cooked breakfast selection on offer. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was parking available beside the entrance. The accommodation comprised a spacious bedroom and a separate kitchen/dining area/lounge, all of which were superbly equipped with everything that you could possibly think of. Basic foodstuffs and condiments were provided. It was lovely and quiet, despite being very handily placed only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Clifden. From the lovely greeting you get with even the kettle been put on for us to the gorgeous meal in the restaurant to the fabulous breakfast the next morning.
