Drogheda is a beautiful town with lots of history and places of interest, great choice of cafes and restaraunts as well as bars, St Peters Church on west Street is the most beautiful church I have ever been in and well worth a visit it also holds the shrine of St Oliver Plunket .The outstanding thing about Drogheda is the local people who are so warm and friendly.

Drogheda is much bigger than I expected.

Drogheda is much bigger than I expected. It’s very spread out and was quite congested with traffic when I was there so maybe a little difficult for driving if unfamiliar with the area. It is a very old town with lots of history and old buildings and has short distances to nearby beauty spots. Would need to spend a few days there to appreciate its character.

The location is about a 10-minute walk from the town, The rooms are spacious with loads of light, a kettle and coffee or tea in the room. The B&B is very well kept and the hosts are just lovely and very welcoming. The breakfast was top class and the breakfast area was laid out with every dietary need for any person. A joy to stay and I will be using the Mapel House B+B again.
