Fantastic beds! Usually hotels very soft beds that kills our back but these were firm and so comfy! Great to have slippers. Great toiletries. The room had coffee machine and everything was very clean. It was great that parking was included. Good sound proof.

Ellen at the front desk was absolutely a pleasure to deal with from when I arrived to when I checked out. She was always very bubby and pleasant in my interactions with her. She was helpful and explained about the alternative parking options in case the small on-site car park was full, including the free car park just up the road and the opening times of the on-site Spar shop which was very handy for a snack. The rooms are modern and very comfortable and clean. It's student accomodations so there's no TV's or in room extras, like in a hotel, but with phones, iPads and laptops to hand these days who needs one. You can get a hairdryer, toiletries (shampoo and body wash) and extra towels at reception on request. The ensuite bathroom is a good size with a nice big shower and auto lights and fan when the door is opened. The room is furnished with a very comfortable double bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, additional storage and with double sockets at the desk and above the bed. Very comfortable stay. Even though there were students and other guests on site. I had peace and quiet in my room. Great location and great value.

FAQs about hotels in Galway

Cracking City of Craic

Welcoming Galway is a small city with fantastic nightlife and an infectious atmosphere. Outside of the Galway Arts Festival, there’s still plenty of live music in the Irish pubs to get the party started.

The Galway Races at Ballybrit Race Course west of Galway Airport attract a good crowd, as does Eyre Square, a green space with flags of previous ruling families who gave it its nickname - City of Tribes. To the south are cobbled streets housing brightly colored shops and restaurants.

Sights in Galway include its cathedral and city museum which has an interesting insight into the history of the city and Ireland. Lynch’s Castle is the last remaining 17th-century merchant house, and the Spanish Arch is a small section of city walls by the Corrib River, linking Galway Bay to huge Loch Corrib. Where river and ocean meet is Claddagh Park, a great spot for a picnic with a view.

Further around the coast is Salthill Promenade, home to Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s national aquarium, focussing on sealife off Irish shores. It’s a Christmas Day tradition to jump from Blackrock Diving Tower nearby into the icy Atlantic Ocean, though you may well spot some wag giving it a go.

Booking.com has an excellent range of Galway hotels, apartments and B&Bs to complete your stay.

Galway is a great starting point for Ring of Kerry tour.

Galway is a great starting point for Ring of Kerry tour. In addition Galway is a charming town with lots of character. We ate at Mcginns Hop House and it was so good we ate there both nights we were in town. Be sure to drop into the Galway Cathedral as it is truly speculative.

A beautiful clean, safe city.

A beautiful clean, safe city. So much history in and around the city. The people are lovely and enjoy a chat. An easy city to walk around-no car needed. A trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Arran Islands is a 'must do'.

A perfect home base for a visit to Irelands west coast.

A perfect home base for a visit to Irelands west coast. The city itself has lots to offer but it makes it a central location to many of Irelands tourist attractions. I recommend it for a 3-4 night stay if doing day trips around the area, or 2 nights if strictly staying in Galway. In Salthill we loved Ré coffee and the strolling the boardwalk. In the city, the fries at Prátai are an absolute must, visit the Cheesemongers Wine bar for amazing Irish cheese boards and great wine selection. Many beautiful pubs to choose from, my favorites were Tigh Neachtain’s and Tig Choili, and restaurant options are abundant.

Galway wasn't our favorite place to stay.

Galway wasn't our favorite place to stay. We enjoyed our day trips outside of Galway, but the traffic in and around Galway was terrible. I even asked a local and he said the traffic was always that bad. The buses we took to the city center was 45 minutes late according to the bus schedule which was probably due to traffic.

The hotel is recently renovated and very clean. Easy access to the city center. What is exceptional for us; was the treatment of the staff in special the receptionist Maria and the General Manager Seamus. They were absolutely amazing, helpful and excellent professionals. For sure makes a huge difference to have those people around.
