The staff at Radisson Dharamshala is excellent and always ready to help. The property itself is beautiful and has amazing views of the valley and is spread out enough that you can take some walks in the nice weather. The pool area is definitely the jewel of the place and you can spend hours relaxing by it while enjoying the nice views. The bar is good as well. My wife and I enjoyed a few cocktails in the evenings and the staff was kind enough to bring us a small plate of food for our toddler free of charge. The food is on point. We tried the in room dining option twice and the service was great both times. The Italian restaurant was quite good and the Bohri Biriyani from the regular Indian selection is a must try. We were traveling with a toddler and he enjoyed the open air play area as well as the indoor play room.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel nestled in the mountains, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by the crisp, refreshing mountain air and stunning views all around. The weather was perfect throughout my stay, making it ideal for exploring the many trekking options nearby—there’s a trail for every level, and each one offers breathtaking scenery. One of the highlights was the local food served at the hotel. Every meal felt like a comforting taste of home, prepared with care and authentic flavors. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of adventure. What really set this place apart, though, was the warmth and hospitality of both the hotel staff and the people in the town. Everyone I met was genuinely friendly and always ready to help, making me feel welcome from the very first day. If you’re looking for a peaceful mountain getaway with amazing trekking, delicious home-style food, and the friendliest people, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I am so happy to have found Hotel King Castle! I was staying at a really awful ashram before and had to leave abruptly and Ravi and his staff graciously took me in same-day. I was still packing at the ashram when Ravi was already arranging my transportation for pick up! Once I arrived, the front desk staff helped me with my bags, took my payment (they accept cash and/or credit card!) oriented me to the room and hotel services, the room was warm (!), the bedding was clean, and complementary coffee arrived! The food at the hotel restaurant is very delicious (vegetarian-only) and the prices are very reasonable. I tried a variety of dishes and was always happy with my order! The flavors were incredible and made to order fresh. I was able to order room service and pay at the end of my stay; I recommend you have breakfast in the restaurant because the morning view is absolutely remarkable. During my stay, I needed to go to an urgent care and the front desk staff kindly assisted. They oriented me to prices, my options, and called a taxi driver who ended up staying at the clinic with me (shout out to Anil, who I recommend you hire as your taxi driver!). Every single staff member was respectful and kind! Big props to Ravi for hiring such great staff. The location is perfect for what I wanted to do with my time. It’s walking distance to the main McLeod Ganj square/market, the Dalai Lama temple, the Tibet museum, the Dharamshala skyway, and many cute cafe’s and restaurants. I felt very safe as a solo-female traveler and definitely recommend you stay here! My favorite things: the heaters in the rooms, the elevator/lift (my foot was injured so this was incredibly helpful), the warm showers, the big comfy bed (very spacious room btw!) the restaurant, the location, the staff, and Ravi’s communication. After a terrible experience at the ashram, I felt like these guys saved me and gave me another chance at experiencing Dharamshala. Thank you and until next time!

If someone wants to relax or at least sleep, avoid this place. However, if someone wants to smoke the shisha and argue, it’s just the right place! Noisy all hours of the night and into early morning.

    I mainly went to see and experience the Buddhist temples and see the mountains-which I did via taxi That the hotel organized-the driver was a good guild I ate at their restaurant as it was lovely food and the service was very good and they cared about my likes etc.

    Very less traffic...can book a taxi for a day in reasonable price. The Skyway experience is a must take... You can cover all tourist spot in two days... You must try kombucha...at the tea estate... the ice cream was also very refreshing.

    We didn't stay in the town which looked to be very busy but stayed at a resort which was located in a secluded valley outside the town. We did stay a few days in McLeodganj but it was too crowded and full of traffic pollution.

    It is a bustling town like all in India. There are splendid views of the Himalayas and there’s easy access to the Dalai Lama’s residence. There’s opportunities for climbing, hiking and paragliding. Restaurants provide good, in expensive food.

    Dharamsala is a sprawling, working town in a very beautiful part of India. Unfortunately, the town does not match its surroundings and has little to offer the essential traveller. We went to watch Test match cricket in what is an impressive location but I would suggest that if the ground wants to hold more Test matches and T20s, then more investment needs to be made in the town itself in order to attract overseas visitors.

    The best part about the Grand Him Queen are the staff. Friendly and always helpful they made my long stay very comfortable and easy. Ms. Preeti (and she is) on reception answered all my many questions every day and the other hotel staff always greeted me with a smile and a wave which made me feel very welcome. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderful view of the valley towards Dharamshala. It is easy walking distance to everything that McLeod Ganj has to offer and I found my way about very quickly.

    The place is nestled deep, away from all the hustle bustle and is located in between all the major towns of Mcleodganj, Dharamkot and Bhagsu. Very easy to explore everything on foot. And the view is one of the best you will get at any place in here. Apart from the stay, the food is also one of the best at very reasonable prices.
