Jodhpur is an interesting historic city with a magnificent fort towering over the old blue city. The area around the clocktower has numerous bazaars and places to stay and eat, great for shopping and exploring. Jodhpur offers wonderful local handcrafts and is worth visiting for this alone. Jodhpur has the great fort of Mehrangarh which has a lot of interesting and beautiful palaces in its compound and also a museum which was full of historical artifacts. the Mehrangarh fort, the Umaid Palace was worth it. Some restaurants were good. Shopping is great if you have time to look at many stires. The tax drivers take a cut by taking you to their know shopping places - please avoid and do your own research. For me, having delicious food on the rooftop terrasse with amazing view on the Fort and lovely people around was more than the best experience I could ever have had here in Jodhpur.
