If you want to visit proper desert with Sandunes then Sam is the place. Gets a bit crowded during winter season but it's ideal climate to visit Jaisalmer. You can do Jeep Safari for sunset and sunrise. Same with camel safari. Desert bike and parasailing also available. If you are traveling in winter grab some warm clothes as it gets really cold in the mornings and evenings especially due to the winds. there are tons of camps and most of them offer cultural program.
