Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland going straight from the airport to the Blue lagoon then checked in. Not a lot here but there’s a pretty church here Tip: don’t buy supplies in the airport shop - we stocked up & it cost us a fortune. Grindavik is a small, beautiful fishing village close to the Geldingadalur volcano (but not too close) and the Blue Lagoon. It has many excellent hiking opportunities and great restaurants. Grindavik is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Great location for Meradalir.
Great location for Meradalir. Fabulous fish and chips at Papas - Grindavik is a fishing town, so all fish is fresh that morning. Lovely walking around the town. Very peaceful. Great for exploring south coast and peninsula. Only 25 mins from Keflavik.Guest review byLorraine - 10.0

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. This is a dock terminal terrible views, bad aspect for tourists, cabin super smaill no microwave, no waste basket in bathroom, nothing to sweep with, place is creepy, huge caping yard nezt to the property that makes it seem dangerous. Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history.
Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history. It's super close to the Blue lagoon and volcano so, there are many options for hiking or relaxing. There's a grill place with a super nice man who told me a little about the history and life of Grindavik's people and he also sells awesome hotdogs. The hotel was generally very clean. The rooms were quite basic given the high price although suited our needs. We didn’t get chance to use the spa facilities. The location was quite unusual being sited in a lava field and neighbouring the Reykanes Geothermal Power Plant. Ideal for the Blue Lagoon and a free shuttle bus was provided from the hotel. Close to a supermarket, The Blue Lagoon and a number of restaurants. It was the perfect base for us to explore Reykjavík, the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon.
