The guesthouse gave a accurate description of the area so we knew what services were there and not there and could plan ahead. We loved walking around and the sights and hikes that were nearby. It was so easy to get to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, and we could go back to see them at night too. Absolutely loved the variety of fresh, farm to table offerings, and homemade breads at breakfast. Dinner menu was extensive, meals were delicious. Enjoyed seeing the sea birds, and sheep in the pasture. Views of mountain and bay/ ocean were great. Very close to Glacier Bay and Diamond Beach. Peaceful. Staff were friendly. Wonderful place to stay! Review of Hali Country Hotel Reviewed today We chose it because of the proximity to the glacier lagoon and diamond beach. What we didn’t know was that it was the perfect place for a super comfortable first night after flying and a long drive. The owners contacted us in the morning to ask if we’d like dinner, which we gratefully agreed to, as we’d not been to this area before and knew we would be tired after a long travel day. The dinner was delicious with great choices, and was beautifully spread red and served. The surrounding property was stunning - farmlands and majestic cliffs filled with seabirds. It was perfect for our family - located close to the Reception/restaurant building so very convenient but not as close to the sea/views as other parts of the hotel. Really close to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. We ate breakfast in the hotel - it was a buffet with loads of choice and everything was kept topped up.
