We enjoyed the cabin we stayed in. The bedding was very nice and the kitchen perfectly stocked with dishes. The playground was fun. The office sells some camping supplies. Hofn is great, quiet and cosy, but I believe that staying in the nearby villages is even more comfy. The town has a few great restaurants, a really wonderful little pool with hot tubs. We loved this town and wish we had been able to stay 2 nights! It was rainy and foggy during our stay so could not really see the full beauty of it. We went to the tourist information center and were greeted by a very helpful women. We booked a family room and the space is alright and the facilities is just acceptable. The cabins were constructed next to a some kind of a truck workshop and the reception is 1km away. If you are not too tired and have a few minutes to spare, I recommend you read "The Story of the House" (it had no title, so the name is not real). The owner was more than dedicated when she shared details about both the history of the house and the family, but also small details about Icelandic life. The room was very nice with a balcony, a table and a kettle, and most importantly there was a sink in the room. Breakfast was very nice, just like other breakfasts we had around Iceland. We were lucky enough to experience some of the aurora borealis just a short drive from the guesthouse. The rooms are very clean and warm in the winter, and the breakfast included in the price is a real plus and, from our experience, this is quite rare in Iceland.
