The building is beautiful both inside and out, with a unique charm thanks to its history as an old school. The atmosphere has a very cool, distinctive vibe. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was comfortable and cozy. The shared bathrooms were decent and served their purpose. We also opted for breakfast, which featured a wide variety of options—and everything we tried was delicious.

I think what makes me think of this place as even more magical and unforgettable than it is anyway is its artwork - it was stunning and utterly heartwarming in its simplicity. I have driven through on numerous occasions but never stopped. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Lovely view of the lake adequate local facilities close by and only a half hour drive to Geyser and Gullfoss.

Laugarvatn is in an excellent location between the national...

Laugarvatn is in an excellent location between the national park to the west, and Geysir and Gulfoss Waterfall to the east. It has a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding hills, a few restaurants, gas, and plenty of lodging.

The room was available before check-in, the owner provided information on auto check-in in advance and also some discount options. Place is nice and clean and modern. Alerted us on northern lights and also when electricity went out for a bit for the town. Microwave was available in our room. WiFi and hot water was great. Welcomed with Icelandic chocolate.

Beautiful cottage, exactly as one would imagine an Icelandic holiday home. The house was charming and tastefully decorated, set in a stunning environment nestled in the heart of a forest. The location was perfect for exploring the main sights of the Golden Circle.
