I have driven through on numerous occasions but never...

I have driven through on numerous occasions but never stopped. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Lovely view of the lake adequate local facilities close by and only a half hour drive to Geyser and Gullfoss.

Laugarvatn is in an excellent location between the national...

Laugarvatn is in an excellent location between the national park to the west, and Geysir and Gulfoss Waterfall to the east. It has a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding hills, a few restaurants, gas, and plenty of lodging.

What an amazing find! Out of the 3 different accommodations we booked in Iceland this was by far the best. Amazing location and views, felt great after a day of hiking to come back to a quiet place with a beautiful view, made us feel at home and relaxed. The place was clean and had everything you might need. I would highly recommend!

Everything about the place. An amazing historic building. Our room was close to a "normal" hotel room with a private bathroom (some other rooms have shared bathrooms etc. and are slightly cheaper). Everything about the place is amazing. No TV in our room, but a very well-stocked library :)

Lovely hotel, our cabin was beautiful. Decorated with some lovely homely touches and pictures of the farm animals. Cabins were lovely and warm due to under floor heating. Food was delicious and the ice cream was so good!
