Our favourite accommodation for our Italy trip. Room was large, well-furnished, clean, spacious, and had a breathtaking view of the castle. Staff were also very generous and kind people who offered to drive us to the accommodation from the bus stop as we had large suitcases. They also gave us a tour and shared with us the highlights of the area, which was much appreciated and we are thankful for their time and for the lovely accommodation! Breakfast was delicious as well.

This is an absolutely fantastic accommodation. It is scrupulously clean. It is as described in the listing and there is enough food for breakfast to feed a hundred people. The beds are very comfortable and the host very personable. We would highly recommend this place.

Our stay at La Casetta Madonna di Morciano was an unforgettable experience that beautifully blended history, nature, and heartfelt hospitality. Nestled at the foot of Bagnoregio on the grounds of a former monastery founded by followers of St. Francis of Assisi, this property offers a truly unique retreat with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. What makes this place extraordinary is the dedication and passion of its sole owner and host, Mr. Dante. Transforming this consecrated monastery and chapel into guest accommodations was a true labor of love, it took an incredible 15 years to obtain all the necessary permits, including special authorization from the Vatican. Mr. Dante’s perseverance and vision are evident in every corner of the property, and he takes genuine pleasure when guests appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of his lifelong project. The gardens are a highlight, especially in early June when arches of flowering jasmine and a variety of vibrant blooms fill the air with their fragrance. Ancient olive trees, some nearly 30 years old and planted by Mr. Dante himself, add to the sense of history and tranquility. He even produces his own olive oil from the orchard on site, a testament to his deep connection with the land. Accommodations are spread across several charming buildings, each with a private bathroom for comfort and privacy. Breakfast is a delightful selection of sweet pastries, and guests can make their own coffee using a capsule machine with a milk frother, perfect for crafting your own cappuccino. Whether you choose to enjoy breakfast indoors or outside on the terrace, you’re surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the gardens. After a day exploring Civita di Bagnoregio and the surrounding region, the small plunge pool is a refreshing treat.     The old town (Civita) is an amazing place. A living museum. A bit difficult to access, especially in n a hot day, if you’re not young and fit. But it is worth the trouble. The village of Bagnoregio is a quaint place typical of Umbria with 2-3 nice restaurants and old cobbled streets.

    Civita di Bagnoregio is unique and charming, but very small.

    Civita di Bagnoregio is unique and charming, but very small. Staying a night is fun but there is not much to do so 2 nights was perhaps too much. Bagnoregio does have a nice church, it is not exceptional. Pack light as the walk involved some cheeky up and downhill walking.

    A quiet and magical medieval town on top of a hill. To reach the top of the hill, one has to walk around 1 km of a foot bridge. The view of the town and the view from the town are spectacular especially during sunset and sunrise. Towns folk are very friendly. Food is great although a little pricey. Try Cantina di Ariana. The waiter there was very nice. Their food was very good especially the hand-cut ham and the steak that is cooked in front of you by the fire place. Can’t wait to go back there.

    Civita di Bagnoregio is definitely worth seeing.

    Civita di Bagnoregio is definitely worth seeing. The city has about 12 inhabitants as it is crumbling off of the hillside. It is reachable by walking across a bridge that involves a fairly steep incline at the end. We didn't eat there, but there are many restaurants.

    Civita did Bagnoregio is a must see and do when in Umbria / Tuscany area. It is fascinating. It is very much a day-trip tourist location, so staying the night within the Civita gives you a whole new perspective. It becomes very quiet, you feel like you have the town to yourself. A caution though, everything closes by about 7pm (19.00), including the restaurants.

    Deserves more than 3 ***. We give it ***** Apartment was huge. Host Carlo, could not do enough for us. Fridge was packed with food, juice, wine, beer, soda, meats, yogurt, fruit. Table full of just about everything for brekkie, lunch and dinner. Bathroom was modern. Bed comfy. Free park 60m away. Lovely neighbourhood. We would highly recommend staying here.

    The apartment was stylish (newly renovated!), spotless, neat, and clean. Comfortable beds and fast internet. Full kitchen so we could eat some meals at home. Short walk to grocery store, bakeries, produce stores, and cafes. Walking distance to the Civita di Bagnoregio, and by car 30 minutes to Bomarzo (Monster park) and 45 mins Orvieto. Hosts were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the car park and walked us to the apartment. We would definitely stay there again.

    This is the cutest place I stayed in during my travels. It is so cosy, has everything one could need in a small space and it’s perfectly located close to Bagnoregio but surrounded by a garden and lots of greenery which makes it perfect to visit with a dog. Also, Dante, the manager/owner couldn’t be a better host.
