Anna Maria was an excellent host. The room was in a lovely town in Tuscany. Our stay was tranquil and we very much enjoyed our chats with Anna Maria. The place was very clean and comfortable, and she even provided plenty of food for breakfast, including homemade marmalades. We look forward to staying here again when we return to Tuscany. Very peaceful location that is still within an easy walk of Barga Old Town, as well as very convenient for the local swimming pool and playgrounds. The apartment is very spacious and there is plenty of space to relax. Bed was comfortable. Even though there was a heatwave, the apartment stayed quite cool in the daytime with shutters down, and the main bedroom has a very effective ceiling fan. There are beautiful views of the mountain from some rooms, as well as the greenery. Our host was helpful and able to meet us despite us having a slight delay through arriving by public transport.

    Barga is quiet, not heaving with tourists, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.it’s a lovely hill top town. We did a couple of their recommended walks…not easy walking. Tourist info office not open Monday through Wednesday, try the travel agency accross the road from The Alpino. Take the bus to Barga from Lucca, as Barga is on a hill and the station is in the valley, a few kilometres away, can’t guarantee taxi either.

    The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day. Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

    The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful.

    The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.

    Barga is a beautiful town on a hill.

    Barga is a beautiful town on a hill. A great place to explore the mountains above Pisa. There was a festival on when we arrived so the town was busy but full of live with live music and great food and drink.

    Get away from the madding crowd head to Barga true Italy its so pleasant in the old town has a good selection of bars and restaurants .On the edge of town is a fantastic public pool great for adults and kids ,further down the road is tennis courts and the surrounding countryside is stunning

    Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery.

    Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a market once a week - recommended. If travelling by train, allow plenty of extra time in case of line changes - the cost of train travel is low but remember to validate your ticket on the station platform before boarding. Barga is a fabulous Tuscan location.

    The beautiful farmhouse near Barga was stunning. It was very peaceful, the room was was traditional and comfortable. The couple that own the structure are lovely people, they were very helpful when we had an issue with our rental car, they provided a lovely breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again!

    The location is amazing. A beautiful garden at the entrance, a nice balcony with great view to have breakfast. Real easy to walk from the hostel to the old city. My room had the most amazing view on Barga. I took postcard-like pictures from there! The host was very kind and helpful.
