A beautiful little scenic town amidst all the Trulli's. Loco Centre full of lovely restaurants, narrow cobbled stone alleys, just too beautiful to wonder through. Beautiful old town area, quite compact with lovely restaurants and cafes. A few shops selling tasteful clothing and gifts, no tacky tourist tat. Stunning views across the surrounding countryside from many view points. Two nights gave us the opportunity to explore in a relaxing way but it’s possible a day trip would be enough for some. In my opinion, Locorotondo is the best town to visit in Valle d'Itria! It is certainly the most picturesque and sits on top of a hill which looks out to Martina Franca. The selection of cafes, bars and restaurants is great, with lots of options. Nowhere near as tourist filled as Alberobello, this small post-card beautiful ,whitewashed clifftop town offers breathtaking views from its belvedere. Parking in these "white old towns" is always tricky but we found free parking by the football stadium just a short walk away. The churches were very interesting but sadly we visited in winter and not much was open in the old town itself. A great base to visit all the major towns in Puglia! Only 3 Trulli apartments means that it feels like the place is virtually exclusive. The variety and quality of breakfast was outstanding.
