Maiori is a quieter (thankfully) seaside town along the Amalfi Coast. Its perfect for exploring the whole coastline by ferry and bus. Its also very easy to visit Vietri ( think ceramics on a major scale). You can start the Path of Lemons right in Maiori ( we did) and also visit Ravello. We did the hike to Ravello ( there's a fork in the path) and it was really testing. Although you can see Ravello, its across a valley and so the hike takes you uphill, through the mountain forests and around the valley - some 8-9 kms as opposed to the easy lemon path (tough). Maiori has everything, but its not hectic like Amalfi and Positano ( you can easily escae back home) Don't hesitate to book Maiori or Minori (around the corner) both offer exceptional value when compared. Beware of accommodation up or down flights of stairs to get there, that's what many places will do to you - carrying luggage is tiresome.Guest review byHD & JL Hansen (couple)South Africa - 10.0
Maiori is an interesting town on the Amalfi Coast.
Maiori is an interesting town on the Amalfi Coast. The beach is big and much more accessible that other towns. The local bus service (Sita) is good except that the buses fill up and you can be left waiting for the next one and hopefully get on it. The Amalfi Coast road is amazing, winding, narrow and so busy with traffic nonstop passing with inches to spare - sometimes buses and cars have to back up to pass on some parts. The Italian bus drivers are extremely skilled - some are nice, but some are extremely mean (and I think hate Tourists)Guest review byMiddletonAustralia - 10.0

Maiori is a fantastic town — not as touristy or crowded as...
Maiori is a fantastic town — not as touristy or crowded as Amalfi, and not as expensive as Positano. It has the longest stretch of beach along the Amalfi Coast, complete with a lovely promenade for walking. This also means there are more hotel options on flat ground, without endless stairs, and several free beaches to choose from. Another great thing is that there are fewer boats here, and the port is located away from the main beach, which helps keep the water exceptionally clean. If you want to explore the rest of the coast, ferries depart from the port every couple of hours in all directions, making it easy and convenient to visit nearby towns.Guest review byIrynaPoland - 10.0

We were 100% satisfied with our stay in Maiori. It’s a great place to base oneself on the Amalfi out of the frenzy of some of the other more touristy towns which are still easy to access by ferry or bus. Annalisa is a very attentive host, she kept in touch and helped us with everything we needed. The room was perfectly cleaned on a daily basis by a lovely housekeeper. The location was great, very easy to get to and on walking distance to the Main Street, bus stop, the beach and anything else we would need, but it was also very quiet and relaxing. Each room was squeaky clean, and ready for our arrival (even the double sofa bed in the kitchen was converted and made). There is a lovely balcony that runs all along the bedroom/kitchen windows and doors, and the beachfront and town center are only a few minutes walk. It felt very safe and welcoming. This is a great location for families with kids, as the city is very kid-friendly, overall flat with a beach playground. The apartment is nice, and it was pretty functional for our stay.
