    Melito di Porto Salvo was not one of the desired stops in our driving tour of beautiful Calabrian towns (I Borghi piu belli d'Italia) but rather simply an overnight stop between two clusters of those towns. It is not, in our view, an especially beautiful town. Similarly, we booked Villa Sul Mare simply as a serviceable en route accommodation and our expectation aligned with reality. It is serviceable but not, again in our view, a destination accommodation. It's a 7; does the job but best suited for a one-night stay.
