Monforte d'Alba was a dream.
Monforte d'Alba was a dream. The town was so sweet and full of incredible restaurants and such nice people. It's pretty steep so wear shoes with good soles if you plan to walk to the top of the town and see the clocktower - which is a must, the view is absolutely worth it! There's a wine shop that has all local Monforte d'Alba wines. I'm still dreaming of the macchiato and brioche con crema normale at the Grappolo d'Oro bar in the piazza. The church was beautiful too!! A great little town which we used as a base to explore the region. Picturesque traditional village atmosphere with a great restaurant called Felicin which we had dinner at twice as it was that good with amazing views. Built into the side of a cliff, and made up of four connected medieval buildings, each room is different and connected though a series of hallways and caverns. The bar and restaurant on the ground floor are terrific, and the wine list - and wine cellars - are exceptional, and with an encyclopedia selection from Barolo. Giulio and his team go out of their way to ensure a lovely stay. We are always treated like good friends who have come to visit.Guest review byMichaelMontenegro
