FAQs about hotels in Naples

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and cable cars. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of tunnels you can visit and even a Graeco-Roman theater which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artifacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

As for accommodations, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city center apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.

One of the most electric places I’ve ever visited.

One of the most electric places I’ve ever visited. So many galleries, museums, restaurants, islands and of course a live volcano. Great metro system with some stations tricked out with art installations. But the thing I liked most of all was the people!

Naples is a busy city; however, there is a relaxing feel about the place. The bars, cafés and restaurants that are away from the tourist areas provide great food that is well priced and with friendly staff. If you are happy to walk, it is easy to get about, just look out for all the scooters buzzing around.

There are so many other great spots in Italy.

There are so many other great spots in Italy. Naples is NOT one of them. Go somewhere else to really enjoy this country. Sorrento is close, even Rome is better. The country side is where it is really beautiful. Naples is a dirty city with street vendors everywhere.

The city of Naples has much to offer visitors.

The city of Naples has much to offer visitors. The city is full of history and beautiful architecture. It is divided into different quarters and most are fine to visit during the day but at night I would recommend careful selection. A day and half is a perfect amount of time to see all of the sites if you are fit and can handle a lot of walking. We walked 12 miles in one day and managed to see most if not all of the major attractions. We also visited the Forcella quarter which had amazing things to offer. It is a historic neighborhood in the center of the city. Make sure to visit one of the oldest bars/cafe in Naples, Gambrinus! The pastries and specialty coffees were very good. For dinner, I would highly recommend Mimi at the Ferovia. The food is excellent!! Reservations are advised. Also, Naples offers great shopping deals, so take advantage.

Take your favourite walking shoes! Lots of history here.

Take your favourite walking shoes! Lots of history here. Must visit Pompeii, take a train from the main station, everyone is very helpful and understand/speak enough English to help you on your way. Take the bus share from the airport to the station, then buy a metro pass, but remember to stamp it before your first journey. Pizzas are amazing, and very reasonable.

Great place to stay for a few nights and easy commute to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Restaurants are plentiful and we tried 3 different ones. Two of them were superb and one was a dud. That usually happens though wherever you go. Overall there was a lot of graffiti everywhere and quite untidy in a lot of areas. But we still really enjoyed our stay.

An incredible apartment set in a beautiful courtyard right in the heart of Naples. The apartment had everything we could have asked for and more. We were blown away by the facilities and location. Demetrio met us at a cafe by the entrance and was very knowledgeable and kind. The welcome prosecco and toiletries were a lovely touch, too. The perfect start to our two-week Honeymoon in Italy. Highly recommend booking a pizza making class with Naples Bay Tours (especially with Anthony) and getting a short train to Pompei. We will be back!

The room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was the best we have had in Italy. There are a lot of homemade cakes and savoury options. There are also yoghurts / cereal/fruit, etc. All the cakes and savoury bakes (quiches, etc) are homemade salvatore's (a staff member) mother, They are amazing, particularly the pasteria. All the staff are lovely, very helpful, and brilliant for a chat over breakfast and to point out spots to see around Naples.

Naples is not only one of the most incredible cities in Italy: it is an experience. Staying in BARBAJA SUITES IN STREET TOLEDO 205 was perfect to enjoy this epic experience to the most! Stendhal said that Via Toledo is the happiest street in the whole universe, now we can assure that he was absolutely right. We can add that BARBAJA SUITES IN STREET TOLEDO 205 was the best possible place to stay.

The guest room is situated in (by far) the best neighborhood of Naples, right on the coastline with countless great restaurants and cafes around. I wouldn't consider staying in any other Naples neighborhood after this stay. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great bathroom, too, something that isn't necessarily standard in Italy.
