FAQs about hotels in Parma

Picturesque Parma Packs a Punch

Picture elegant cobblestone streets and piazzas full of well-dressed locals eating and drinking at a café or deli filled with delicious delicacies. Parma, most famous for its Parmagiana cheese and prosciutto, also provides nourishment for admirers of architectural pleasures.

It's easy to explore the historic city centre on foot or by bike. Romanesque churches to admire include the 12th-century Cathedral and Baptistery of Parma, and the neoclassical San Pietro church in central Garibaldi Square.

The 16th-century complex of Palazzo della Pilotta houses the National Gallery and the Baroque-style Teatro Farnese. Museo Lombardi holds important artworks and documents.

A thrilling and unique spectacle is to watch an Italian opera written by Parma’s favourite son, Giuseppe Verdi, at the acclaimed Teatro Regio. The Festival Verdi is held annually in October to celebrate his achievements.

Whether it is a romantic getaway, business jaunt or city trip, Booking.com has a hotel for you in picturesque Parma.

    Really enjoyed, beautiful. Very walkable.

Really enjoyed, beautiful. Very walkable. No police presence. Did not enjoy groups of 25-40 young men running around fighting. Everyone ran from the mercardo in fear when they started fighting with mask and wine bottles.

If you want to avoid the touristy cities in Italy, Parma is the place to visit. We travelled by train from Milan, so no need for a car. Easy to walk around, plenty of history and of course the Food is what the city is most famous for.

Very hot, so stayed only a few hours in Parma. We went to see the Duomo and the Battistero ((Baptistry). They were both very lovely. I enjoyed the art in the Baptistry (it's worth paying 10 Euros, Sr. rate). We looked for cheese, as that's where Parmaggiano-Reggiano is made. Asked around and found a cheese shop to buy a pound. Nice cafes and gelateria. Good shoppng. The parking garage Toschi is the best one to use for the Centro Historico.

Parma was a delightful surprise to us with lovely architecture, a wealth of bars and restaurants and friendly people. The food on offer was amazing and where we eventually decided to eat absolutely blew us away with the quality of the food and wine and exceptional service.

    Beautiful city.

Beautiful city. The park was nice for a stroll, the Palazzo della Pilotta complex extraordinary - we allowed a few hours but could have spent the whole day there. For us the highlights in that complex were the theatre, the library and the Bodoni Museum but the art galleries were also wonderful. We didn't have time to include the archaeological galleries. Probably the best museum we have ever visited. The cathedral was also awe-inspiring. Having spent so long in the museums, we ran out of time and couldn't see the monastery or the Baptistry. I think two full days would be needed. We ate in a couple of places around the Palazza della Pilotta - the cafe facing the square for breakfast and the laid-back bar / pub OsteMagno to the side (twice because we enjoyed it so much).

Parma is a smaller less touristy city than its neighbour Bologna, which for me made it a more authentic place. Obviously the food is a big draw and everywhere we ate was superb. It is also a good base to visit other places in the area, even as far as Milan, as the railway links are exceptional

This is the perfect place to stay in Parma. The host Alfredo is incredibly friendly and kind, and made the whole stay feel very welcoming and hospitable. The location is just steps from the centre, as well as being very close to the train station. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautiful, and the hotel itself is sympathetically modern in a stunning old building. We stayed during a heatwave in Parma (36C/97F) and the room was perfectly cool with the air conditioning. Overall, an exceptional stay and we would love to come back.

I couldn’t fault this hotel, one of the finest stays I’ve had in all three trips to Italy. The staff were amazing and all spoke English well. The room we had was amazing and had a really large balcony. The bed is the best I’ve on my travels too, with good crisp sheets and two pillows which is a rarity. Parking right under the hotel is worth the fee. 10-12 minutes walk to Parma town centre. Impressive breakfast selection. I think this hotel represents the best value in the area.

The hotel is conveniently located and allows easy access to the centre of Parma. The hotel room was large and well appointed although the furniture and structure seems a little jaded. The staff were helpful and engaging.
