Everything ! What a lovely little hotel - like going back in time to kind and friendly people in a clean and comfortable space ; location is also amazing ! Breakfast was delicious with a wide selection of fresh food and great coffee too ! There is a beautiful , gentle German shepherd here too 🐶

The welcome from all the staff on arrival was absolutely 100% after a weary journey from Ireland by air and train/taxi… the owner/principal (Bruno) was excellent with plenty of advice and assistance with getting into nearby Passignano sul Trasimeno… we will be forever thankful to Hotel Kursaal for making our stay in Italy very memorable and fulfilling! The room, location, amenities (pool, bar, restaurants) are all individually fantastic, but the main reason I would come here again is the friendly staff. Gianni, the owner, is the man who knows everyone and will assist with anything, he is the main reason I will be coming back in future.

Perfect position on lake front in centre of town, next to ferry & with free private car park. Breakfast room was nice. Our corner room on top floor facing lake & with balcony was very nice, bright & light & bathroom had great view of Centro Storico. Staff all nice & we are able to check in early because our room was ready. We only stayed one night but wish we’d booked for two as it’s a good base for exploring & plenty of restaurants to try in the town without needing to drive anywhere.

    It's a charming little place especially if you take the time...

    It's a charming little place especially if you take the time to walk up the through the steep back streets to the old fort. There are some good restaurants and fortunately it hasn't yet been completely Disneyfied, unlike the larger options around the lake. The proximity to the ferry for trips to Lago Maggiore does attract a lot of day trippers. There are lovely paved walkways along a large stretch of lakeside.

    Everything within the town was within walking distance.

    Everything within the town was within walking distance. We travelled by train with suitcases and didn't need a taxi. The ferry to Isola Maggiore was a highlight of our trip. We used Passignano as a base to travel to Assisi by train, which was straightforward. Perugia is also worth exploring but we had already stayed there before coming on to Passignano. There were a lot of restaurants, but we mostly ate at home. It took us a few days to find the small town centre supermarket, which would have saved us the longer walk to the Coop, beyond the station. The pasticceria was a favourite shop! This is such a lovely location that it could be very busy in the middle of summer. We were there early in the season and it was only busy on the Sunday.

    Passignano is a nice town on Lake Trasimeno.

    Passignano is a nice town on Lake Trasimeno. There is not much to see in the town itself, but being on a trainline it is easy to get to Florence, Assisi and especially Perugia. There are plenty of good-value places to eat.

    The town itself was nice and fun, very nice walks and restaurants. If you have the car, you can drive around the lake and see the surrounding area, which has quite a lot to offer in terms of historical buildings and history in general. The scenery was nice too. Opposite Passignano sul Trasimeno, across the lake, was another town, Castgliano del Lago or whatever it's called, I wasn't in there but it looked interesting too. The only thing that was a little worse is that the water was bad and it was not recommended to swim in. There were few places you could swim, I went there but it didn't look appealing so I just swam in the pool. It is still a good destination to stay there for a few days and enjoy.

    The hotel is a short walk from the train station. It is an uphill walk and there are no pavements. The hotel was clean and tidy and I would consider it good value for money (our stay included an evening meal, which included drinks, and breakfast.
