A beautiful city, cleaner than other cities in Italy, with a charming view of the sea. In September, it still has a vibrant evening atmosphere, with restaurants, shops, and traditional music at the taverns. Personally, I found it less crowded than Amalfi and more interesting than Positano.

Sorrento was a great base for the Amalfi Coast and Naples area. You won’t feel trapped here because there are trains, buses and ferries at your disposal. Sorrento was busy but not overwhelmingly packed like Positano, for example. In the evenings it was relaxing because day trippers were gone. It is flat compared to other coast towns as well, which is nice when you spend a lot of time in Italy walking! Great weather and lots of beach clubs if it is warm enough to swim.

We did a few day trips while in Sorrento, Amalfi, Capri and Positano. Our location was within walking distance to the pick-up point and about 45 min ride to the harbor. Some of the restaurants that we ate well were O'Murzill, Fauno Bar, Il Leone Rosso Restaurante. The best gelato we ate was at Raki.

My husband and I have been to Sorrento a few times in the past 5 years. It is very beautiful. We have really noticed the increase in tourism and especially the increase in cost of eating out. Elastic pants are definitely your friend here as the food is so good and some of the restaurants outstanding! We have visited Pompeii, Herculaneum, Positano, Amalfi. Stayed overnight in Capri and a day trip to Ischia. It is a most beautiful part of the world.

The BEST place we have ever stayed whilst we were travelling around Italy. It is about a 20 minute walk from Sorrento port, the host was so lovely and helped us organise our trip to Capri! I couldn't open a bottle of Prosecco as the cork had sunk and she was great with helping us out. Such a lovely lady that made the stay worth it!

Excellent location with a perfect view. The room was clean and the reception was happy to help to any of my requests. The parking was free which I consider very helpful for a roadtrip planner like me. I highly recommend this hotel for summer visits to south Italy.
