I booked the Double Room with Sea View for good money but at no value. The room had a window with blinds that were broken and not possible to open, so instead of the sea view I've got the 4 walls closed space (perfect for Amalfi coast vacation!). Old smelly absolutely shaky furniture, cracks on the walls, dirty walls that haven't seen any paint since the building was finished I guess. Even the soap saucer in the bathroom was cracked. We were looking to have a relaxing holiday in a cosy, seaside town and Vietri certainly didn't disappoint! It's a beautiful place with lots of lovely shops, bars and restaurants. Everyone was very friendly and eager to help us out. We visited a few places like Amalfi and Positano which we felt were too busy and touristy, but Vietri wasn't like that at all, it feels genuine rather than commercialised. There's a lot of steps as others have mentioned, but I think this just adds to the character of the place and helps to burn off those big bowls of pasta. We think Vietri is the best place to stay on the Amalfi coast. It is easy to reach (most other towns are a pain to drive to), and is a great place to explore from, with Pompeii only 25 mins drive and Herculaneum around 35 minutes, all motorway. The town itself is very authentic and prices are reasonable compared to the better known places. The boat service to other Amalfi towns is regular and easy to use without being too expensive (€25 return to Amalfi for 2 people) - we enjoyed the boat trips as much as the towns which were generally heaving with tourists, I’d hate to think what high season is likeGuest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A charming village full of character, famed for its beautiful pottery, we particularly enjoyed its charming little shops filled with colour and variety. The location was conveniently close to Molina, the small village where we stayed. On our first day, we dined at a local restaurant that was excellent, with a variety of fish and meat dishes at reasonable prices. Theresa, Enzo and Antonia were wonderful! They met us upon arrival and explained everything in English. Our rooms were very clean and modern with exquisite views of the sea and town. The breakfast room was excellent, clean, comfortable with plenty of snacks and bottled water and juices. The location was perfect, close to town and we were able to access ferry boats to the rest of the towns on the Amalfi Coast and Capri right from the Vietri sul Mare port a short walk away. Restaurants, shopping and bars are abundant in Vietri and the people are very friendly and most speak English if your Italian isn't great. Access from Rome was easy via Tren-Italia. Vietri is a small, but lovely town; less commercialised than Amalfi or Positano for instance. It also has the benefit of a train station, which we used to visit Pompeii. Taxi's can be expensive, so this was a good way to travel at affordable prices. We used the ferry service a number of times to visit other Amalfi Coast destinations which was very good, albeit pretty crowded. This could be busier in June/July/August. Carmen and her mom were so kind to our son, even made him pancakes every day and spoiling him with lots of attention. The property’s location is amazing, so easy to get to the other towns on the coast and Vietri sul Mare was a pleasant surprise, we absolutely loved it. The flat is fully equipped (washing machine, dryer, oven - everything!). Contact with the owner was very easy, everyone was always available and answered our questions.
