To begin with, we were so happy having decided to stay 3 days in this particular hotel in Petra. In 35 years of travelling we have met very few attentive owners (Ahmad and Mohammad here) of the hotel who got out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The hotel owners even felt responsible for their guests' problems unrelated to the hotel. We had a rental with a dead key fob battery and the first thing we did when we entered the hotel was to ask where we could buy a new battery. The owner Ahmad asked us not to bother and have a rest. He bought the battery himself and refused to take the money. Each time we met one of the owners or a staff member Mahmoud we were asked if we needed something, if everything was fine. The hotel has an underground parking with the lift to upper floors. Our room on the 2nd floor was very spacious, spotless, with a fridge and a kettle and complimentary water. The breakfast was varied, very tasty buns (especially the ones with cinnamon). We found the location excellent for our needs. A five minute drive to Petra visitor centre, a 5-10 minute walk to restaurants , a 3 minute walk to the bakery (try kullaj -flaky pastry). Should we decide to visit Petra again, we will undoubtedly stay in the same hotel.

1) just walking distance to the visitor centre of Petra. ( Don’t worry about the uphill walking, taxi are always accessible with good price) 2) Once you checked in, the hotel manager will brief you about visiting Petra in details that helped me a lot to plan my routes. They also helped to book the local bus to Wadi Rum for me. 3) The breakfast is much more than basic. I had it everyday during my stay. The view of the canteen and rooftop bar is perfect!

While I cannot review the Icon Petra Hotel as we were offered an upgrade to its 4-star sister property, the Petra Moon Hotel, my overall experience was absolutely positive. The hotel is just a two-minute walk from the entrance to the Petra archaeological site. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel features a rooftop pool—which is quite rare in Petra—from which you can enjoy a view of the enchanting city. We also had dinner at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, and it was an exceptional meal, both in terms of atmosphere and food quality. The only regret is seeing Petra with so few tourists, which is heartbreaking considering the great spirit and warm hospitality of the amazing Jordanian people.

    Petra is always a magical place in your imagination.

    Petra is always a magical place in your imagination. However it does not compare to the real thing! No matter how vivid your imagination! You need at least two whole days if not three to really enjoy the sights of Petra. We stayed a short distance away from the visitor center closer to the town centre where there are lovely restaurants and a more local vibe. It's better to take it easier and absorb the local culture and ancient history.

    Petra Great place to visit. 2 days stay would be right. Petra by Night show is a complete waste of time and money. Avoid doing this. 17 JOD per person. There is actually no proper show. Lasted only 30 minutes.

    Wadi Musa is a small village up 1km of Petra

    Wadi Musa is a small village up 1km of Petra Many inhibitants consider foreigners just as walking wallet but it is possible to find honest shops and good restaurants at normal prices of you get right informations and visit places for locals. Nothing special, just a place to stay when visiting Petra where there is no local life at all only places for tourists. 2 days are enough is visit the wunderful site at walking distance from Wadi Musa. If you do not want to walk back up after visiting, it is better not to stay in Wadi Musa but in the more expensive, more convenient but also more artificial Petra outside the historical site.

    we loved this place. we went for 3 hours tour in the desert and saw nice places. booked train tour which was super. camel ride was an experience. we stayed in Martian theme accommodation, something different experience. suggest to stay for 2 nights.

    While the contemporary town is not much to write home about,...

    While the contemporary town is not much to write home about, the gem that is Petra simply takes your breath away. The people were all very friendly (ok many of them were trying to sell you something, but they did it so nicely). When you think you've seen it all, a walk up to the Monastery or the High Altar although a little challenging is more than enough reward. Both are simply stunning. Go and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

    Petra Premium Hotel was amazing. The staff gave me very useful tips about the Petra visit i was about to do, like hiking times, location of shuttle bus etc. The staff is super friendly and helpful! The hotel was located very good with alot of restaurants around to choose from. The hotel also was not that far from the entrance to Petra, about 15-20 minute walk. Lastly, the room was very clean and spacious and the breakfast was great to. I totally recommend this place if you ever pass by Wadi Musa, great value for the price.

    Petra Guest House Hotel – special We carefully chose this hotel for its location and facilities and over 3 nights it did not disappoint. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Great room (with a balcony overlooking the mountains). Tremendous staff: On the front desk Hanadi and Ibrahm Hanza really helpful (arranged a difficult transit in bad weather to Wadi Rum with driver Ahmed). Amer and the Cave Bar crew (including Zayed) and restaurant team. Omar exceptional. All first class.

    Fantastic location, aspatious apartman with 3 separate bedrooms, great view, and 5 minutes drive to Petra Visitor Center. Ahmed greeted and treated us as friends, we had a wonderful time there. He helped us with everything, suggested great routes and helped to organize our tour at Wadi Rum. I can only recommend this place to anyone visiting Petra, it is far better than in a hotel.

    Great hotel in very close proximity to Petra visitor centre. Although the room furnishing is a bit dated, the hotel conpensates this by excellent service, superb cleanliness and great breakfast / buffet dinners. Our room has beem cleaned several times a day, which only happens in really upscale hotels.

    Good location of the apartment house - close not only to the entrance to Petra, but also to the center of Wadi Musa. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel owner was friendly, interested in helping us. He allowed us to store our luggage after check-out and pick it up later.
