I think if you want to also explore the area around Chichibu you should stay for two nights. We only stayed for one and we just got to explore the town a bit (although not so much to see) and then we went to Nagatoro, which we could have spent a bit more time. The house is very beautiful also the rooms are wonderful and traditional Japanese. The view from the room is amazing! You can easily hike and take the bus back to the appartment. There is a road next to the building but very few cars are driving at night so it is not too loud.Guest review byValerianAustria
