Everything was thought of. The Lounge on 24th floor was 7 star service. The staff were phenomenal and took special attention of us and were so generous to our kids. I spent most of time visiting other parts of Kyushu ie Saga Prefecture, Kumomoto Prefecture and Kagoshima, Munakata and Oshima Island. For my next trip will spend more time in Fukuoka. I took a bus tour to have a view of the city. The first half was interesting, going over the famous bridge and seeing the waterfront. But the second half was boring. Just looking at traffic.

Fukuoka is definitely a gem for travellers - from city area to country sides. Locals are friendly and the attractions I visited were wholesome and eye opening. The food especially ramen was good. Transportation-wise, it is fairly easy to navigate around Fukuoka, we have the bus / train / JRs / even walking. It is recommended to adjust your pace for your travelling schedule to avoid being burnout - You will walk a lot during your trip.

Loved the city - quiet night, we walked along from our hotel in a busy small street to an all-Vegan restaurant (Bogoro All Vegan) and walked back. it was a great experience. Don't miss Canal City Hakata - it's expensive but worth a visit.

Fukuoka City offers a lot for travellers who like the city...

Fukuoka City offers a lot for travellers who like the city feel, but not necessarily how crowded Tokyo is. There’s many cultural sites within Fukuoka and surrounds if that’s what you like as well. I love Fukuoka. There’s many other part of Kyushu that Fukuoka offers easy access to as well.

Fukuoka, (Hakata) is a lot less crowded than Tokyo, Osaka,...

Fukuoka, (Hakata) is a lot less crowded than Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. There is a ferry terminal where you can ride a ferry to Busan, S. Korea if you like. The Shinkansen train station is in the central part of town making transportation very easy and the subway system is not insane to use like Tokyo. Prices for food are very reasonable and there are many different restaurants to enjoy. Day or night, Fukuoka is a lovely, safe and enjoyable place.

Great value for money hotel opposite from the Canel City Hakata shopping mall which is massive. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and comfortable and definitely exceeded expectations. Very centrally located in the Gionmachi area and about a short 7min walk from the main JR Hakata Station or Gion local train station if coming via Fukuoka airport. The rooms were relatively spacious and very clean. Equipped with fridge and mini bar Staff were all extremely nice as well. Would recommend

Best breakfast I have ever had at an APA hotel. Hotpot that you create and design yourself - sooo delicious. Western style menu as well as Japanese. Close to Hakata station - 5-7 minute walk, flat and easy. Hotel reception staff were professional, polite and lovely, especially the male receptionist who greeted me on arrival (and incredibly handsome!) Close to a Lawson's and lovely cafe just outside the door on the left hand side. Great restaurant just across the road from the main entrance.

A budget hotel w/c is very near the hakata station. Clean and good staff. It's my 3rd visit in fukuoka-hakata and compared to the last two which is at almost the same price point- tkp has the smallest room and bathroom. However, tkp has the best proximity to the hakata station w/c is more important. It is clean and feels safe.

Any JR hotel is a symbol of quality and this one is no exception. Location is fantastic (3 min walk from Hakata train station) and room size is large compared to the Japanese standard. Extremely comfortable, my top selection for Fukuoka. Great value for the price.
